I'll tell you what, I'm going to take our discussion to the trades board. You think Grabner's worth a Kyle Clifford and I think he's worth Pearson + or a 1st +. Quote me and give me the word, and I'll post it and let's see what others have to say. I'm trying very hard to give your narrow minded assessment as nothing more than temporary fixation as all of us have suffered one time or another, but if you're going to keep egging me on, you leave me no choice.

Quote me or not, the option is yours.

Go right ahead. Ask the trade board and Isles fans what their thoughts are on Grabner. Of course I expect some to overvalue him because that's what fans do, but let's see what objective observers have to say. I don't see that much value in Grabner. I'm not discounting his one productive year, it's the entire body of work that just doesn't impress me.

I don't think he's a consistent enough scorer for the Kings to look at that'll cost them two valuable assets. I'd rather they take their chances and keep those assets or move it for something better. It's settling on an option because there isn't a better one out there, which is what I don't want to see them do.

Don't know of Pearson being a productive player in the NHL, just like Tambellini never turned into one, but I wouldn't move an asset that is still developing for a player who struggles to score and is owed $9M over the next two seasons. Oh and he isn't known to pass the puck either. So yeah, sounds great. Let's get a guy who has had one explosive season who hasn't come close to reproducing those numbers and is softer than charmin toilet paper.

Maybe I'm too low on Pearson and too high on Grabner. I see Grabner as a 6'1 guy who is one of the fastest guys in the league and averages 30 goals a year when you look at his games to goals ratio. I see Pearson as a guy who was never thought to be overly skilled but was close to being nhl ready. I'm not seeing him as close to nhl ready and his style seems redundant on this team. Grabner is playing very well right now and ads dimensions this team doesn't have and DL wants if we are to believe the rumors. I'd make that deal every day.

I believe you are too low on Pearson. IMHO, he is going to end up being the better player. I understand that we don't have enough games in the NHL to base this on, but he is already putting up better numbers in the AHL than Grabner did and he's only 21.

Toffoli/Vey/Pearson are only included in trade talks that get us a significant player in return. All of these guys would be drafted in the first round if it was done all over again.

The Kings were playing great when we had the kids in there. I think all we need to do is get them back playing to inject some life in the team.

Why don't we try Toffoli/Kopitar/Williams and Brown/Richards/Carter? It seems like those lines would be pretty good.

Toffoli? Definitely!
Pearson? Probably.
Vey? Unlikely.

Definitely. Given that Pearson was drafted in the first round, and I don't see a player behind him that would cause us to change our minds. In all likeliness, he'd get taken before we pick.

Shouldn't this thread get closed for now? Theres nothing left to discuss

Thomas Vanek to Los Angeles for Kitsyn, Nolan and a 3rd.

I miss Danny Carcillo. :( Why the hell is Frattin still on this team, I'de much rather have Carcillo..

Frattin has more points than Lewis and he gets benched a **** ton. He's not as bad as most of you make him to be

Grabner is a player I'm looking at for months already. He has also speed the Kings desperately need. He has a very bad season though but I would do it.

Good contract too.

I'd honestly take a chance on grabner more than Gagner.

Grabner has a scoring touch and speed.

All I'm expecting at the deadline is a serviceable vet dman and a guy like Boyes from fla.

Grabner has a scoring touch and speed.

...and he is one of the best Isles PK player, Capuano (coach from the Isles) doesnt know how to use his speed, never gives him a second on power play and if he is lucky can clock 12 minutes a game. A change would do him and the Kings very well...
