Haven't confirmed yet, but likley once #Oilers asked for prospect over a draft pk for Gagner, (see last night's tweet), things went sideways

Thats the end of that?

It's negotiating. It's never the end until a deal happens one way or another. There's another few weeks of room for negotiation. If both sides want to make a deal, a deal will be made.

If you prorate last year to a full season, he'd have 30 goals.

That's assuming he keeps up at the pace he was scoring at, which is questionable. He has 9 this season. I don't view him as a player who would excel here and I'd rather give up the assets you're talking about for a better player. Not a Grabner.

You don't base a player on one season, that would be very shortsighted and inaccurate assessment, you balance it out.

7 of his goals are in the last 22 games, so he is coming on. We have players here, who have 1 goal or 2 points in the last 22 games...

On the other hand, we could always have Grabner blast into the offensive zone, stop up from behind the opponents D, and pass
to someone coming in late who can actually snipe.

But you are banking on his one 30+ goal season to think that he could be a legit top six forward on the Kings. If they're moving a guy like Clifford for Grabner, that's fine, but Pearson and/or a 1st rounder? No thanks. Those assets should be talked about for bringing in a legit top line player, not a borderline top six forward who struggles to find the net at times, which the Kings are already full of.

I'm not basing it on one season. Like I said, I'm taking all seasons into consideration, and not just this season alone, like you are.

Clifford for a Grabner is an ABSOLUTE JOKE! You referred to Clifford as trash, and now you think our trash, should land a guy like Grabner???

Since you're big on projections, he's projected to score 13 goals and 29 points this season. Sure, let's give up first round picks and young prospects who were taken in the first round for players who produce numbers like that.

Like I said, your view's shortsighted. My perspective is more broad and gives a better and truer assessment. Who in their right mind would base a player on just a single season?

Pearson was the last pick in the first as an overager and went completely undrafted before. Do you think Pearson will ever have a goal per game clip Grabner has in his career?

Do you read what you are writing? You are calling Grabner a 30+ goal scorer based on one friggin' season of success that he had. Look at his entire body of work. He didn't follow up that season with spectacular numbers now did he? He got off to a terrible start this season as well.

It's like calling Jason Blake a 40+ goal scorer than calling me short sighted. You're too much.

Don't know of Pearson being a productive player in the NHL, just like Tambellini never turned into one, but I wouldn't move an asset that is still developing for a player who struggles to score and is owed $9M over the next two seasons. Oh and he isn't known to pass the puck either. So yeah, sounds great. Let's get a guy who has had one explosive season who hasn't come close to reproducing those numbers and is softer than charmin toilet paper.

I'll tell you what, I'm going to take our discussion to the trades board. You think Grabner's worth a Kyle Clifford and I think he's worth Pearson + or a 1st +. Quote me and give me the word, and I'll post it and let's see what others have to say. I'm trying very hard to give your narrow minded assessment as nothing more than temporary fixation as all of us have suffered one time or another, but if you're going to keep egging me on, you leave me no choice.

Quote me or not, the option is yours.

His entire body of work shows he has 80 goals in 231 games.
