The dude that said Miller is worth a mid to late first and a b prospect gave me a chuckle.
Funniest part is he said “based on precedent”.

Last years trade deadline, The Draft, Free agency are the three major deadlines I was referring to in the last 7 months. Why are you evaluating the team as if it's next year's trade deadline already?
Our roster composition, which is indeed winger heavy, is utterly meaningless in July.
Let them build the team they're building before throwing out a global opinion on the job they are doing.
I said when their contracts are up. To me, their “patience” has led them to over the cap spending by $2.7 and losing all leverage on the players they are wanting to move. Instead of value given up they will want additional assets or just offer lower proposals for our players. I was optimistic towards losing a Myers or Pearson to create cap space, no chance of that now that we’ve put ourselves over the cap. I think for me, it started by resigning Boeser, he should have been the first one gone to create cap space and assets in order to add flexibility. I was very excited when the team said they wanted to go for speed and skill (emphasized speed a ton) while getting younger.Christ dude. It's going to take years to undo the shit show Benning left, not months.
You would fire a GM after 6 months on the job. You know how ridiculous that sounds don't you?
I am with you in wanting Boeser to be traded at that cap hitI said when their contracts are up. I really like Boeser but if you guys can unload him then it's a good move by the FO, no matter what knocks they take. He's demonstrated exactly what he will be, and that is a stong second line player for a team who will give you guys a first round pick.I am with you in wanting Boeser to be traded at that cap hit
I feel the same way about raising Horvat above his current 5.5.I really like Boeser but if you guys can unload him then it's a good move by the FO, no matter what knocks they take. He's gross at any cap hit that exceeds $5.5 per as he doesn't have some majestic intangible.
By your logic everything discussed on HFboards is a complete waste of everybody's time: we should just watch the games and observe who wins the Stanley Cup every year. You’ll find out what Miller is worth when:
A) He is traded
B) He is signed
Until then the endless arguments predicting his value are a complete waste of everybody’s time.
I don't think most Canucks fans are claiming he is a 100 point player. He's pretty safely an 85 point player though and not a lot of those available.
We will see if it is poor decision making rejecting underwhelming offers when the trade is made or he re-signs.

I’d be really worried about that tbh if he’s still not signed/traded by the time the season started. I don’t think it will take much to be in the playoff hunt in the West and there’s a risk they lose him for nothing.Do you think the Canucks would trade him at the TDL? They seem to be a playoff cusp kind of team.
I think(hope) the talk of keeping him until the deadline is just that, talk. We’ll see what happens when Kadri makes his decision, could have a lot of bearing on what happens with Miller.Do you think the Canucks would trade him at the TDL? They seem to be a playoff cusp kind of team.
If he isn’t dealt soon, there is an option C that bears mentioning.
Going into the season with him. Being at or near a playoff position. And him walking for nothing
I would take this over getting a bad return and over signing him long term to a bad deal.Do you think the Canucks would trade him at the TDL? They seem to be a playoff cusp kind of team.

Letting JT Miller walk is almost certainly the better outcome for the Canucks than signing him to a long term contract. If JT walks next July and the Canucks get nothing for him they should fire the management regime they put in place. Rutherford has said if a player is unsigned at the trade deadline then they will move the player. They did it with Motte, which is not anything close to JT Miller but they weren't willing to meet TM salary ask so they dealt him for a pick that will likely never make the NHL.

No, they trade him if he is unsigned. If he walks after a 1st or 2nd round playoff exit because we kept him many canuck fans will think this is the owner wanting playoff revenue. But that was when we had the yes man Jim Benning in charge.Letting JT Miller walk is almost certainly the better outcome for the Canucks than signing him to a long term contract.
Absolutely. That goes against everything Canucks. What if they win the Cup in that time? Still fire him?
This 110%. Amazing player, just doesn’t fit with our core.Letting JT Miller walk is almost certainly the better outcome for the Canucks than signing him to a long term contract.

What are you doing on here?
I remember back in the day Sens fans and Canucks fans pretty much all collectively called the Sami Salo for Peter Schaefer trade well before it actually took place. The owners took us all out for ice cream.I mean it is…
What do people get out of making mock trade proposals? Is the owner secretly sending users money for making a great fake proposal instead of upgrading the servers??
I like the sound of Peeke, but a protected first can't be the sole add on. Is there a different addition, or combination of additions, that could be added with that top ten protected pick? The value drops off if there is no chance of it being top ten.I would be cool with this trade, but the pick would have to be top 10 protected. Obviously, Jarmo would need to have some sort of agreement with JT on extension. Columbus doesn’t need a one year rental

Any chance Kirill Marchenko could be a piece? Played with Podkolzin (same line even)I like the sound of Peeke, but a protected first can't be the sole add on.
