If their relationship is that strong it will survive a long distance relationship.
Ian Clark is his goalie coach in Vancouver and Demko fought to get him a new contract when his last one expired. I have a feeling that Demko would rather not have to start working with a different goalie coach if he can avoid it given how much he respects Clark and how well they have worked together.

What Adams doesn't say about Levi is telling. He's not saying the same as what he used with UPL during his development. He's not saying Levi needs to play lots of games next year whether that's in Rochester or Buffalo.

Why wouldn't the Bruins move on from Swayman?

Bussi just had a solid AHL season.

The Bruins have 10M in cap space to sign Swayman and 6 forwards. Ullmark has a full NMC.

The market for him is probably a late 1st. They've gutted all their draft capital. Lots of teams out west (Chicago and San Jose) need a goalie and have extra late 1st rounders.

As much as I'd like to see Buffalo get him, Boston probably doesn't want him in the division. An offersheet is a fine alternative, however. My guess is he's moved at the draft along with a cap dump (Reilly) for a late 1st.

Source: DeBrusk And Swayman ‘Off-Limits’ In Trade Talks

According to that same source, NHL trade chatter amongst pro scouts and management had the Coyotes asking for either Bruins winger Jake DeBrusk or goalie Jeremy Swayman, a 2023 first round pick, 2024 third round pick, and one of their top prospects in forward Fabian Lysell (Providence Bruins), or defenseman Mason Lohrei (Ohio State). The Bruins gave an emphatic no to DeBrusk and Swayman being involved in any trade not just for Chychrun but with any NHL team.

“I’m told for now, both guys are off limits in any trade talks when it comes to the Bruins,” the source told BHN recently.

As for Jeremy Swayman, after a so-so start, the second-year goalie has been the NHL’s best statistically over the last two months. Since December 17, the 24-year-old goalie, who is set to become a restricted free agent on July 1, ranks first in GAA (1.81), save percentage (.937%), and in high-danger save percentage (.899%). While his 29-year-old goaltending partner Linus Ullmark is a front-runner for the Vezina Trophy and is signed for two more seasons after this ($5M AAV), it appears the Bruins are in no hurry to use Swayman as a trade asset and break up arguably the best goaltending tandem in the NHL.

Ullmark has been fantastic this year, but he has struggled with injuries in the past and this is his first year of elite level production. Swayman was their #1 goalie just last postseason. I don't think they move on from Swayman yet.

Until offer sheets occur more often I don't really waste time discussing them.

Well there ya go. Adams just said it nearly word for word.

Wasn't that with regards to the defense or roster in general? When asked about goalies specifically he didn't even hint at the idea of an external add like he did with the defense.

I mean, them being off limits in season is different than them being off limits once the season is over. Boston is all in on this year. This summer is going to be a different story.

And you're right, offersheet is a pie in the sky idea, however, in this specific situation, it's one we should explore. How often do you get a chance to improve your team and knee cap your division rival in one move?

I can't believe not a single reporter asked Kevyn if he was comfortable with a 3 goalie rotation next year. I didn't hear all of Granato's presser but I imagine no one asked him either?

Wonder what Carolina does. I imagine Kochetkov gets the promotion to the NHL, so one of Raanta/Andersen should be available (both UFA). Either would be a good target for what the Sabres are looking for.

Yes, one of them will def be avaliable with Kochetkov on solid deal and at least good enough to play 30 games. Raanta has played well, but he's hurt quite often...Anderson will still get a decently expensive 3 year deal somewhere I imagine.
