Buffalo have a lot in common with the texas chainsaw massacre. Goalie masks, low budget and a random collection of limbs.

I don't get the hate for Comrie at all.

He didn't give up any bad goals yesterday.
- Would I have liked a save on GA1? Yes
- Was it a bad goal? No
- Was GA2 a bad goal? No - he was severely screened and the shot went post->in
- Was GA3 a bad goal? No - if you ignore the puck and only watched VO and Peterka you'd see everything you need to see about GA3
- Did he struggle with rebound control last night? Hell Yes
- Did everyone ignore the good quality saves he made? Yep
With the amount of starts and practice time Comrie has had, the rust with positioning and rebound control should be expected.

They need to continue splitting both of these guys and see what they have.

He didn't stop every shot, therefore he sucked.

That said -- I feel like every fanbase without a legit stud in net does the same shit to every goalie.
I can't wait for the day we have a Saros or young Carey Price in net.

Once Miller left it's all been shit and it's what I miss the most, growing up watching Hasek as a kid to Miller in my teens.

I want to cheer and buy a Sabres goalie jersey so I'm holding my breath on Levi.

I grew up with Barrasso into Puppa into Fuhr into Hasek into Miller. Shields/Biron also became legit NHL starters in that time.

Talk about spoiled. Buffalo was a goalie FACTORY in my earlier days.

Maybe we need Tokarski back. That goalie really tied the room together.

Will fix everything
The first 2 lines describe Comrie, as well

No really comparable. Comrie hasn't put up OK numbers anywhere but Winnipeg. Raanta put up great numbers behind a bad Arizona team for years.

Sample size matters. I'm not gonna judge him on 1 start from 5 years ago

Woke up this morning looking at the standings and being annoyed with the goal tending situation for this team. They have no wiggle room and I just don't see them getting it done with the state it is in.

They needed a goalie to emerge as a #1 by now and looking at three guys needing to share the crease feels like mismanagement on Adams part. I have never had any faith in how he's managed the crease during his tenure.

With a packed schedule coming up will be interesting to see how Granato balances the hot hand with the need to keep them all fresh.

I think it's pretty easy. Andy gets his one game a week. UPL gets the lion's share of the rest with Comrie filling in on B2Bs when Andy's already played that week.

A 2/1/1 UPL/Andy/Comrie seems pretty workable.

If we get into a situation where we need to win the final 2 games, I suspect UPL plays the back to back in that case. He's considered to be our starter now

Don Edwards was my first favorite Sabre.

Kevin Woodley frowns upon this take.

Having a regular rotation allows goalies to play without added pressure that they need to play well to get the next game.

I would expect Anderson still gets worked into games and they have stuck with that plan throughout the season, for him to have specific scheduled starts. Some of that podcast is talking up the idea of just rotating back and forth. At this point Luukkonen is providing the better tending between him and Comrie, so it's not hard to imagine he will be given longer consideration for game starts.

I know that back and forth rotation was what Kevin was specifically talking about, but I think the regular rotation vs playing the hot hand idea was the bigger question and that can apply to any rotation and not just back and forth.

Knowing that future starts do not rely on a goalie's performance in one game is something that can really take a lot of pressure off of a goalie. And one thing we have seen with Granato is that he does try to remove pressure from the players to allow them to play free as much as possible.

I need to figure out how to get a note to Donny Meatballs about this.

:sarcasm:

The Granato and Adams threads are invariably bumped after each loss.
Why didn't Anderson start last night?

We may as well cut him if we aren't going to play our number 1 at home in a big game like that.

Our number 1 priority is winning right???
