I don't know how they do it. But yeah, I don't think they can send UPL down playing like this.

Maybe Arizona wants to trade for Comrie? Not sure what we want from them though. 🤔

We have to keep playing UPL. Play the better of the two goalies. This is no longer about future development. The future is now.

If we have to lose Comrie for nothing, that's a trade off I'm willing to make

I think the solution is Anderson to IR. Not sure what for but he is 41. Maybe to IR for maintenance. :sarcasm:

I'm sorry we cannot send down UPL right now, just can't do it. Ride him until he cools off. He's doing everything we were asking for earlier in the year.

I imagine they had a conversation in July about comrie coming in, andy playing out his last year.

Guessing UPL isn't dumb and understands the situation

My guess is Comrie gets at least 3 starts in Rochester. I'm sure it'll be Anderson tomorrow in Ottawa then Luu in Washington.

Gonna be interesting to see how this plays out. Right now Luu has to be the guy. Anderson could step aside for Comrie in the short term as well

This board is going to lose their collective minds when UPL gets sent down. GMKA has been clear with his actions, and non-actions, what his intentions are this season and he doesn't seem to be the type to change his mind.

UPL gets sent to Rochester late next week. Get ready for it.

((I hope I'm wrong. But unless Anderson retires suddenly I think that's the path that we take.))

Things change, I hope we dont have a GM that demotes a goalie who is 4-0-0 with a .935 save % over his last 4 starts all against teams with winning records. Blueprints change sometimes

Their options here including Anderson stepping aside but I dont see Luu getting demoted unless he tanks his next start

It seems like Luukkonen has grown 10 fold last few games.

Maybe we can finally let Anderson retire.

We could do a UPL Comrie combo

Would Anderson be claimed if we waive him?

I seriously was wondering this, because I think any team would know he just retires if that happens. It's not like the organization sends him down and actually expects him to report and play in Rochester. Even still, I think everyone just settles for sending UPL back when the time comes.

I dont think he ever asks to be waived, I think the only possibility is sending him to a playoff team that needs a competent number 2. I mentioned this last week and I think people thought I was saying just move him, but it would have to be something he wanted.

4 games is still 4 games, and it get's more difficult because its not just sending someone down, but potentially waiving another guy to keep him, which seems like a mistake. At the end of the day I guess it all depends on everyones interpretation of their skill, and personally I don't think there's a ton between UPL and comrie, and don't want to lose comrie.

I mean, lets say we waive comrie, UPL stays up and struggles, then Anderson retires. We're back to and inconsistent UPL and whatever the heck Levi's timeline is. Not remotely the situation I want to be in next year

We're not waiving Anderson unless he asks to be waived.
Agreed. Not only that, but if we wave Comrie and he's claimed, then the Sabres are one injury away from problems in goal again.

Also, Comrie has done nothing to deserve being put on waivers.

Finally, we have a couple of compressed schedule scenarios coming up that will call for a goalie rotation, so maybe stop with the knee jerk reactions.
