Speaking of, would macklin living at home be weird or even accepted? Like, is there precedent for this? I haven't thought too hard but Fox was 21 when he started in NY and I don't think he lived at home, and I don't think Faber did either.
Weird or not, pretty sure there is an interview with Rick where he says "I can't envision a scenario where that happens." when asked about Macklin potentially living with them.

There was an interview with Macklin's dad (who lives in the Tri-valley Livermore area with his youngest son) where Rick said Macklin would definitely not want to live at home with his parents if he was drafted by us. And Livermore is a little bit far of a commute to San Jose at certain times so possibly Macklin on his own somewhere else (Willow Glen perhaps? I know Hertl lived in WG and Ferraro lived downtown).

Haven’t seen that, good to know.

It would make sense to room with Smith, honestly.

Here's the interview if you wanted to watch. Pretty easy for me to find since I've only watched one video with Rick in it in my life haha. The interview itself might give some insight into the guidance that Macklin's getting and it's also interesting that it's a Warriors video too.

With regards to Yakemchuk dropping to 14, the only way I would hesitate is if MBN is still available. He's a great fit for the team and, while the D prospect pool is more of a concern, he is up there with Celebrini in NHL readiness and was made for Smith's wing.

Ultimately though, I'm going Yak 10 outta 10 times.
Yakemchuk is on my DND list. The scouting reports on him are scathing.

I don’t want the Sharks to draft Eiserman either.

Much rather have Helenius, MBN, Sennecke than aforementioned two.

For anyone that watches the OHL, would Sam O’Reilly be a solid pickup with one of our second rounders? Had a solid playoff and Mem Cup with London and seems to follow in the mold of guys like Tierney, Evangelista and most recently Cowan as players that didn’t get as much playing time for London in their draft years but broke out in D+1. Thoughts or scouting report on O’Reilly?

I like O’Reilly a lot and would have no problem with taking him at 33 if the D I want are off the board. But I don’t think he’s gonna make it to 33. Shades of Easton Cowan are gonna make this kid go in the 20’s.
