He doesn't. Next year he does.
Thank God, but it begs a question...do we staff three goalies this time around?
Nope.
Either Scrivens is moved and Jones sticks, or Jones goes down when Quick returns.
I have to imagine there is at least 1 NHL team that could really use Scrivens right now besides the Kings. Goaltending is pretty bad for some teams, Scrivens is having a great year and he's a UFA.
Calgary is one team that stands out as a club that needs some stability in net.
We already have an unorthodox flopper in Berra, and I'd prefer Jones![]()
Maybe something around Cammy?

I've watched Jones since his hitmen days, he's also put up pretty good Ahl numbers and now in thr nhl he is putting up good numbers (small sample size), but overall I think he would be safer gamble for Calgary, he is also much younger than Ramo and Berra. Though Gillies might be just as good as him, he's doing fantastic news college but I wouldn't mind gambling on Jones if the price was right.
A) Holy ****
B) What would you do with Jones when Quick comes back?
How do you justify sending him down?
Do you trade Scrivens?
Do you trade Jones?
Do you trade yourself?
This is why you don't sign Quick to a ten year deal when you have a good goalie in the system. Jones will be Bernier II - not allowed to succeed, not allowed to even compete, devalued, and eventually traded away for a bag of magic beans.
Not very smart.
What? Guy wins a cup and carries the team to the conference finals having a guy in the minors that had never even played an NHL game before and it was not smart to lock him up? Nonsense.
Things are going to get really fun around here when Jones has a bad game or two.
*cracks mod fingers*
Don't think it's fair to bang on Quick at all while he's injured. For all we know he comes back and plays Vezina-caliber tendy for the rest of the year and playoffs. After all, he got injured trying to clean up the team's garbage play.
