Sweden once owned Denmark, no? Trying to do a couple things at once.

No, Sweden "owned" Finland, though Russia also "owned" Finland and much more recently (up to 99 years ago), so that would make Teemu Selanne a Russian?

Denmark actually "owned" Sweden, not the reverse. There was a union of Denmark, Sweden and Norway, with Denmark being the dominant senior partner. Then Sweden split off and then there were a whole bunch of wars over who controls the city of Malmo. If you go to Denmark, you'll find that the Danes still complain that the Swedes stole it.

That account has 311 followers and isn't verified. Are we sure that's his legit account?

It's as sure as it gets without getting the blue watermark. He's followed by other writers and personalities he works with like Haggerty ( Bruins writer ), Kirk Luedeke ( scout and Bruins fan ) and Jack Edwards ( yup, that Jack Edwards ).

Yeah, I get that.

Would his friends working 70 hours a week in high-pressure entry-level professional jobs cut out for a few hours to watch him play in Brooklyn or Jersey?

Maybe that wouldn't happen at MSG either -- as you can surely tell, I'm talking through my ass here -- but we both know it's not the same thing.

It doesn't matter where you practice. When the lights come on at game time, there's no comparison to being right at centre stage.

I don't know anything at all about where he wants to go, but if it were me NYR and then Boston would be at the top of my list.

And I'm not even American.

It would sure be nice if he takes a shine to TO instead, but I just don't see that happening.

I lived in both NYC & T.O. FYI
Barclays is closer to Wall Street than MSG. Newark is also a quick train ride from lower Manhattan. Now Madison ave is a different story.

If you have free tickets because your friend's friend plays left wing, would you rather watch a game at MSG, Barclay or NJ -- or would it make no difference to you at all?

Genuine question. I don't have an answer of my own.

All I did was ask a question.

But yes, I am much more satisfied with that than a shady looking twitter account. This Harris fellow needs to spend a little time on having a more professional looking page haha.

All you did was ask a question and all he did was answer it. No need to get defensive after getting your answer.

I want him to go to Chicago simply because I want to watch this website burn. Other than that, idc

As a Rangers fan, obviously I want him to go to the NYR. If he doesn't choose us, I hope he chooses Boston. If not, it is what it is. It isn't a slight to every organization he doesn't choose. He will have his reasons wherever he chooses.

Sites going to burn no matter where he decides to go.

Whoever gets him is getting a very intelligent young man. Hard worker. Team leader. Tons of potential.

Thats why they are coming to Boston hat in hand. This kid is the whole package. Or maybe some of us here are smarter than these GMs, scouts, coaches and former teamates.

Obviously MSG, but there are other factors as well, especially for the guy making the decision. Money is a big factor.

Personally, I moved out of Manhattan last year for Hoboken, and I love it. I avoid the NYC income tax, can keep a car without dealing with $800/month parking in Manhattan, and am literally just as close to Meatpacking and the Village in terms of commute as I was when I lived on the UWS and the Financial District.

I keep on seeing things saying they're coming from people in the Vesey camp. How many people are possibly in the "Vesey camp"

Family? One or two close friends? An agent and an assistant? How many of those people are really talking to bloggers or reporters?

Or do I not have a handle on how this stuff goes at all?

Don't want this kid cause he's already going to be hated like Justin Schultz but even worse and if he flops like Schultz it will be even worse.

No doubt.

My musings have absolutely no connection to Jimmy Vesey's real life, and even if I knew anything about him these trivial things are unimportant.

However, this is his moment and I hope he makes a decision that he will enjoy for many years to come.

One things for certain. As soon as he signs, the teams fans that he didn't sign with with start the overrated talk.

Which is stupid and bitter, IMO.

As a Sabres fan, there's no winning in this deal. If he signs with us, he's overrated and we wasted a draft pick anyway. If he signs somewhere else, people will say "first the lottery, now the Vesey sweepstakes."

When did we all become Kardashians?

This thread. Where everyone argues about which team he is going to. Getting a little upset when someone suggests it isn't their favorite team. Why do fans take this so personally? I don't get it. Your life won't change if he does or doesn't sign with your favorite team.

At a minimum Vesey and his agents Peter Fish and Pete Donatelli.
Then maybe his dad and someone else from the agency.

And after 7 presentations or so back to back in two days, the "sources" have time to report to the bloggers.

I'll come to you

It doesn't take much to fire off a text

Another source within the Vesey camp predicted the young man will take two days to make up his mind.

“Just finished last meeting,†said the source said in a text message. “Probably a couple of days.â€
