With no horse in this race.

Islanders are slightly above average.

Boston is very very very average.

I was arguing about him saying that the only relevant player is Bergeron.

Technically he can.

Randomly chooses the Caps because he wants to live in Baltimore because he's a huge Wire fan.

Never know.

If you're a fan of the Wire, wouldn't you want to never live in Baltimore?

If it ends up being Boston after all this, I'm going to be very underwhelmed. This whole thing will essentially have been a waste of everyone's time, because if it's Boston, that pretty much means he knew a long time ago that's where he was going.

And that he basically put all these other teams through all this rigmarole for nothing.

Well he will be a free agent again in 2 years...so getting a feel for that whole process and learning about some other teams for when that time comes.

His agent said that he wants to sign with a team that he can stay with after the 2 years. Plus he'll be a RFA.

He'll be just another RFA then. No big deal.

This is his 15 minutes of fame. Time to live in the moment now. It will never be like this for him again.

He will just be one more player like all the rest, where ever he might fit along the spectrum.

So did Philly not at least make a call ala Detroit? I know Hexy runs a tight ship so maybe they did, but I thought they couldve been a sneaky dark horse in all of this.

Yep. Seems pretty random to me.

Gonna wait for someone more legit to remark on the Vesey situation.

Not that random. Long time Bruins blogger who is from Vesey's home town. He does not typically scoop stories. Lots of BS flying around about this but if RearAd is saying it I give it weight. He's got legitimate Charlestown sources.

Both Toronto and Buffalo are stacked with young players.

As much as a rival as they are to my Maple Leafs, anyone talking smack about Buffalo and their "lack of depth" has no clue what they're talking about.

Playing for the Rangers in Manhatten he can see his Harvard buds working on Wall St or Madison Ave, who might even drop by MSG to see some of his games.

Is there a girlfriend involved? Would she like to live near Central Park and go shopping uptown? The kid could probably afford a bit of that.

The Big Apple, you know.

I would be very pleased if he joins the Leafs, but most of all I want this well-deserving college grad to do what's best for Jimmy Vesey.

Overall, if I were him I'd be looking at New York. As in New York, New York. Manhatten. Not Brooklyn or New Jersey.

Either that or Boston.

This week the World is his oyster. I do hope he enjoys it and plays this well.

A-Rod can afford to live by Central Park, I doubt Vesey will. $800,000 k is a lot of money to us, however, most of those people pay that in maintence alone.

I stand corrected.

If he has to commute from Staten Island (as I did for one week) the bloom would be off that rose!
