A passionate defense of Brad may have earned him some time. HE kept insisting it was his decision. Somebody here said it was not. me think Sather is pulling some strings behind the curtain.

I'm convinced it was Sather telling him what to do... I think everyone is sick of Brad and his measly production... But who could have predicted 40 year old Jagr outplaying 33 year old brad...

Exactly.

If he didn't, we'd see a ton of 'this idiot has Boyle on the PP'.

Ahh, my apologies, difficult to read into tone sometimes on this board.

PP looked great after Brassard and McD were put on point with Cally, Step and Nash up front. Second unit with Boyle and Zucc up front looked good, too. Maybe want to consider Moore instead of DZ given DZ's confidence issues right now. Hopefully, these units carry over to Game 5 and continue to look good.

Boyle on the PP, Richards in the press box, Haley and Newbury on the ice.

They lose that game and these are the top items on how dumb Torts is.

Exactly. Torts sucks and is an idiot no matter what he does. Never mind that two extremely flawed NYR teams have made it past the first round with him.

But they didn't lose...they won. Boyle scored a power play goal and Richards was right where he deserved to be.

Torts will get no credit for drawing Boyle on PP to score GTG lol.

Coaches are easy to scapegoat.

Why should he get credit? The powerplay is still 5% effective. The law of averages said this was going to happen eventually. If they made me the head coach, eventually they would score on the power play, not sure that I would deserve any credit for it.

I have been saying for years that McDonagh should be on the first power play unit, and Tortorella didn't figure it out until yesterday. And did admit he was stupid for not doing it earlier. We have been saying that Kredier needs to be on a scoring line, and he scores. We have been saying that Richards needs to be scratched, and we win. He is doing things now, that seemed like common sense months ago.

Regardless if you blame the players or the coach, Torts consistently does stupid things.

McDonagh doesn't have offensive hockey IQ to run a PP. He should be on the 2nd pairing. He's never been a point producer at any level. Moore I can understand, since he was the PPQB in Kitchener. It is not Torts fault that his players aren't good enough, blame Sather. Can't win the derby without the best horses.

Our inconsistent offense should be enough grounds for being fired.

People say we don't have the personnel? Then why the **** can this team score 4/5 goals in stretches and then go other games where we can't score 2. That's not "not having the personnel." That's' a coach that doesn't know how to squeeze the offense out of his team because he has no ****ing clue why they're scoring when they're scoring.

I just dont know why we played hamrlik who was awful and hurt the capitals last year against us. He blew this game. Time to retire.

Does anyone still think we should have this idiot behind the bench? God forbid we have a PP coach because Tortorella has a circle of trust and only wants one other person on his bench.

Best goalie in the world? Lets sit back deep in our zone and screen the goalie some more. Gotta make it a fair game for the other team because they don't have someone as good as him you know.

We have a gritty 4th liner that can and has scored more goals than our superstar goal scorer Rick Nash in the playoffs? Let's scratch him and put in some perennial AHL all-star NHL scrub.

Clutch rookie comes in and scores some great goals for us in the playoffs when it matters? Let's not be patient with him until we're on the brink of elimination again.

Oh, and let's play a 40 year old slow as molasses defenseman who hasn't played a game in almost 2 months versus a 20 year old rookie with fresh legs who has played a game more recently than that.

Brassard is lighting up the playoffs in the first round? ****. He shouldn't be doing that, let's put Mr.1-goal-Nash with him so Boston can cover both of them with Chara! Genius!

Zuccarello plays well with Brassard? Demote him to play with Byron Boy and Taylor Pyatt while successfully breaking up the two lines that have been the best for us in the playoffs.

Our PP runs at a 5% rate? Let's keep the same guys out there when we have someone who brought us success sitting on the bench (Moore).

The only good thing he did this postseason was bench Richards. And that should have been done a loooooong time ago. But no, we have people in here defending him.

I don't know if Lindberg could have been brought over either, so I can't blame him for that, but I would have had a kid who was a playoff MVP a few weeks ago in my lineup immediately.

Dont know how you can blame the guy. No depth, no elite positional players. How much further can a team like that go?

Please fire him and bring in some young guy who never has had an NHL coaching job before - not one of the old style retreads - someone more familiar with the state of the current game and adapt.

What? Lundqvist and McDonagh aren't elite? Get the **** out of here. A 5% PP is enough to fire someone. Nevermind everything else I posted above. Has Tortorella EVER outcoached someone?

Positional players do not include goaltenders. McDonagh is very, very good. Hes not elite. Hate to break the truth to you.
