I mean he could have just not been offered the money he wanted or been a fan of his booking. You are jumping to conclusions based off rumors and hearsay. You have absolutely nothing to back up your opinion.
When it walks like a duck and it sounds like a duck….

Yeah man I’m sure working with these clear and obvious children didn’t factor in at all 😂

So based off nothing.

SI is saying everyone involved has been suspended includes Omega, The Bucks, Pat Buck, Christopher Daniels and Brandon Cutler and that Punk and Steel will either be among those suspended or not with the company by the end of the day.

Not even that big of a cm punk fan, just a big Danhausen guy. Also not a fan of children cosplaying as Shawn Michaels, cosplaying as executives kicking in employees doors to start a fight putting an injured middle aged woman in danger. Seems to be something you’re all about though, more power to you.

Be elite! Be be elite!
Fixed that one for you.

CM Punk is open about being an ass hole, this is not new behavior. Here’s the thing though- you’re allowed to be an asshole. You’re not allowed to be an executive that kicks the door of an employees office down to try and assault him. And if they’ve done that it begs the question- what else have they done?

Also that’s a whole lotta suspensions lol

I mean I agree they were out of line and arguably I do think Tony should strip them of EVP. Make a rule that no active talents in senior management roles going forward. That doesn't in anyway excuse what Punk did in that press conference and I am sorry but throwing steel chairs and biting other people is still an escalation above and absolutely fireable.

Gotta do what ya gotta do when you’re lifelong friend is being outnumbered 3 on 1 and your injured wife is also in the room. Chomp away. Ciampa way.

I mean I doubt the Bucks were about to shank his wife or something you make it sound like they had him cornered in a back alley. But I mean yeah if it is a situation worth getting fired for then start tossing objects at people. I am sure there will be other jobs.

Off topic but why is that okay for some people. I’ve worked with people like that and they’re so miserable. Just becuase you admit you are an asshole and continue to act that way doesn’t make it okay. People like that I believe have some internal issues and they need help.

The downright hilarious thing to do would be fire Ace Steel and then hire him in ROH as a trainer

A lot of Assholes exist in the world, they suck but you just deal with them until they do something that you can fire them for. I do not think that tirade was worthy of termination. If he was an EVP it would be worthy of stripping him of that role, but he’s not.

Punk coming back was the biggest thing to happen to professional wrestling in years. It was massive, and it would be hindsight bias to say they shouldn't have done it, but also Punk has been incredibly difficult to work with in the past, so while something THIS nuts may not have been foreseeable, any day-to-day insufferability would be. But, if Tony sees all these guys as figurines to act out his booking fantasies, and not employees to be held to account, then a mess was always going to fall down on him, no matter how good AEW has been for the wrestling industry more broadly.

It was pretty obvious that Punk and the Elite could end up clashing. Both have VERY diffrent wrestling philosophies and neither are known to be people willing to compromise on that vision. Heck, the Bucks cannot compromise on that because it is the only reason why they became relevant. Disrupting conventions is how they got over.

Ironically, both sides see themselves are more important than they really are. Push Danielson correctly, put more emphasis on MJF, continue to build Wardlow (and do it better), feature FTR more, continue to elevate the Acclaimed, Garcia and Yuta. Do all that and you will have your own stars and you won't need the Punk headache. And, well, the Bucks and Kenny aren't mainstream draws.

Also being reported now that Megha Parekh was in the room while this all went down. Something tells me they didn't bust the door down with superkicks if head of legal was coming along lol though that would be the funniest timeline.

Justin Barasso of Sports Illustrated reporter that Pat Buck, Christopher Daniels, Michael Nakazawa, and Brandon Cutler will be among those suspended. Determinations on Punk and Ace Steel have not been made, while Punk met with Tony yesterday which the report terms would’ve been an opportunity to discuss how an exit would work and an answer should be coming today.

Third party investigation is involved as well, I don’t know how anyone gets fired outright without that being completed.

I think "kicking the door" is more an image than what really happened.

Like, they came in without knocking and they were aggressive. Not that they literally kicked the door.

I guess Megha Parekh was there to try and get things under control. She is also rumoured to have taken Punk's dog out of harm's way

Yeah always how I interpreted it. They opened a closed door and weren't welcome in the room quite clearly lol

there was another report out there that they tried to stop the fight along with Daniels. Daniels is head of talent relations. Not sure how credible that is but I have a hard time seeing Daniels as an aggressor.

Daniels being suspended is weird to me. He is the head of talent relations. Unless he took sides, I do not understand why he would be suspended. Not his fault Punk went off and the Elite responded.
