AEW All Elite Wrestling #8: Grabbing the Brass Ring of Honor

I get why MJF would be really pissed, but I'll equate this to sports because why not?

A lot of times athletes don't get selected to 1 year of an all star game at the beginning of their careers when they deserved it, and they make it 1 year at the end they shouldn't have.

Danielson, Punk, Moxley, Cole, Jericho...these guys were all known hot commodities before AEW. Some more than others but the point still stands. I had seen MJF wrestle locally ONCE maybe 5 years ago, but I didn't really know much about the guy. He's gonna get paid in the very near future, but let's not act like he came in with AEW and we all knew he was gonna be a top guy day 1

MJF shouldn’t be pissed. He signed a contract that was surely better than he could have had from anyone else when he signed it. I think it’s fair game for him to be looking for a raise and he should professionally be approaching AEW about a new deal that could start right away once they agree terms. However for him to be putting himself out there and referencing it unprofessionally could backfire. Neither AEW nor WWE need MJF to survive and if he does go the WWE route he’ll probably find himself somewhat stunted creatively.

In WWE he would peak at Dolph Ziggler heater level. Just a guy that can work a promo to hype a match, just to put over the next mid card good guy. No meaningful programs or title matches. 5 minute scripted segments every other week.

Or he will get the Cody treatment and both get paid way more and heavily featured

He will surely get paid way more than he currently earns if he stays. As for playing hardball, are they? All I ever here is from MJF and that his contract is up in 20whatever.

It’s been his gimmick for over a year. He’s been publicly negotiating live on TV long before AEW signed at least half the ex-WWE guys they have - which is not doing good business. MJF signed his deal before AEW knew they weren’t going to fail.

Once again missed the PPV because it wasn't available in the medium I needed. It streams through Bleacher Report which almost nothing caries so you almost have to order it the traditional way.

Khan needs to stop collecting wrestlers like a child and be a freakin businessman. People literally want to hand him money and he's like "nah".
