The team is at the worst possible spot, teetering on 8th-9th. Not high enough in the standing to add, not out of it enough to sell. I doubt daddy Jacobs will let them rebuild so close to getting some playoff revenue. So I doubt sell is on the table.

So what does Donnie do? I just hope it's not the same as last season. Team doesn't need a couple of depth players. They need difference makers and they cost an arm and a leg.

Don't worry BU coach David Quinn compared JFK to Jonathan Toews

Remember when Chia tried to acquire Atkinson before he became the player he is now? That would have been a nice pickup for the Bruins.

I still hoping they sell when it comes to the deadline

Me too

If they are hovering near the bottom and make any deal that appears to be short term with any draft pick 1-5 or decent prospect going I am not going as Don Sweeney in an angel costume next Halloween

Sweeney needs to man up here IF IF IF presented by Cam for this type of deal. Scuttlebutt says he didn't back Cam in firing Claude earlier this month so he needs to do what's right long term not a phony baloney trade - 2,3,4,5 vanished for lyles & Stempniak and who knows what prospects they could have drafted

How about Forsbacka-Karlsson?

I have no inside knowledge, but my assumption is the Bruins wouldn't mind Jakob joining them next year.... but at the same time with Bergeron/Krejci as the 1/2 for the next 4 and a half years, a big raise coming to Pastrnak etc etc they probably won't rush him. I would love Sweeney to try and move Krejci opening up a spot. Would be interesting to see what the return would be and since you have Backes as insulation you don't have to put Jakob in a top 2 role right away. No movement clause makes that seem pretty unlikely though. Either way I'm looking forward to Jakob joining the team whenever that happens.

How about Forsbacka-Karlsson? If he's the second coming of Jonathan Toews I want him in uniform with a signed contract.

Definitely could see him leaving, but he is a bit blocked at C on the big club level, so he's most likely in the AHL. Guess we'll see if he join the PBruins after the NCAA season. I think Bjork has a much greater chance of making an impact next season than JFK.

Blocked? It's been a turnstile at 3rd line C. If I were a betting person, I would say that if he comes in next year and impresses in camp, then he might start at that position. Quite honestly, its a perfect place for a rookie center to start.

I think the 3rd line C spot is JFK's to lose since he's supposed to be such a good defensive player. He'll be the first center prospect in a while to come in with a natural aptitude for defensive play as opposed to being a pure offensive guy who needs to be taught the defensive game.

Trent Frederic has an outside shot too tho I could see him breaking in as 4th line C.

I would have loved them to move him 2 years ago. Now? Not sure what they'd get back.

Honestly, I think I'd move him for a 2nd round pick if it meant I didn't eat any salary. He's not a difference maker anymore.

Hes the one guy im really suspect on signing but I hope I am wrong, I really want him to sign on the dotted line. He has speed, hands and grit. And is a scorer. Come. On. Down. We're so clogged with prospects.

DeBrusk, Senyshyn, McAvoy, JFK, Bjork all could sign though out of that bunch I can only see DeBrusk/Senyshyn getting time with the big club. How exciting though. Ehat of Grizz? Hows he handling AHL?

Are McAvoy and Forsbacka-Karlsson so good they will step into the NHL after two or three years of NCAAs witn no AHL developmental time? The highlights are great but are they NHL ready basically right now?

A 1st what? A 3rd would be a coup.

If I could get a 2nd, I'd be tempted as well.

X2, his best years behind him I would love to see them move on from a few guys. I love Krejci but it's time to move on IMO. He is damaged/repaired goods now so by the time they get back to the SCF he'll be too old to be much of a difference maker.
If they were to put him up for trade and IF he agreed to it at the TDL I bet though that they would get better than just a 2nd if they retain salary.

NCAA prospects normally have three or four years of development at a high level. Some, like McAvoy, have already demonstrated a matured skill set to give confidence that they can be successful In the NHL.

There is ample precedence for this, e.g. Johnny Gaudreau, Kevin Hayes, and others. Most of these guys are 21-23 years of age unlike their Junior counterparts who are younger.

The need for AHL experience is determined on a case-by-case basis, e.g. Rob O'Gara, Danton Heinen, Matt Grzelcyk. McAvoy proved a lot in his stint with the U.S. Team in the WJCs. JFK, also a sophomore, may need another year at B.U.
