Both with almost identical contracts (JC makes 200K more) same term left, both in need of a change of scenery. At least one of them wants out (so I've been told)

It's very curious. Haven't watch Colbourne much this year, but liked what I saw that last year in Calgary and was surprised they didn't re-up him. Versatile forward, looked like he was becoming a decent middle-six option, maybe more suited for 3rd line.

Well he did play here under Julien at an earlier stage of his career.

But, deficiencies aside, wouldn't he still be a better option than Jimmy?

No, to tell you the truth. I don't like playing players in a position that is not their true position. If he can't play center for a Julien team then he isn't worth it. Just my opinion

That is why I am all in favor of trading Spooner for a winger.

How is his defensive responsibility as a center? If he has been bad, Julien isn't going to use him

He's seems to be a decent face-off guy, 54 and 55% the last two season, but has dropped to the 40% range this season, quite a drop, I don't know the reason.

As for his overall defensive game, I'm not really sure.
