This will do nothing but make the blood of Bruin fans boil

http://www.bostonherald.com/sports/bruins_nhl/boston_bruins/2014/12/bruins_failing_grades

what we see is what we get until an opponent is ready to make a deal, I really liked PC`s candid assessment though

I don't think we are going to get an Iginla replacement until the deadline. I would put Smith with Krejci/Lucic until then.Bergeron and Marchand can play with anybody when they are on their game.Krejci and Lucic need to be complemented well.

1- I don't but Julien at fault much here. In fact we have probably won as many games as we have because of his structure. He just doesn't have the horses plain and simple.

2- while PC is responsible for this cap mess and lack of NHL ready prospects (and the direct correlation between the two issues) he is not a dumb guy and knows he has to take action. Doing nothing will cause major problems and he knows it.

I didn't know Boychuk could solve our 1st line RW problem. We should've kept him.

delicious quote
“The team can score, but we’re not scoring right now,†said Chiarelli. “Mind you, we’ve had scoring slumps before. I just don’t think we’ve ever gone this long scoring at this level. It’s a crisis of confidence a little bit.â€
and 'Maybe the five goals against Nashville will change that.'

Meaning the team finally found a backup goalie they can beat, and he plays for Nashville. Pete just reupped his old-school coach who believes offence just gets in the way of more good defence. Unfortunately, the NHL is heading the opposite direction, and Claude and Pete got left behind at the train station holding hands.

This meme is getting tired. Haven't the Bruins been among the top teams in scoring (and +/- differential) since Claude came aboard? This is the only season where it's been noticeably bad and it happens to come about when the Bruins have a revolving door of defensemen played in large part by losing their #1 D and then losing their #1 center and point getter..

Could it be that the team hasn't been healthy all season be part of why their scoring is down? And suddenly, with a couple games under their belt when they're back, they explode for 5 goals?

I'm not giving Claude a pass.. I've certainly questioned some of his moves during the game.. but he's simply the goat right now and he honestly doesn't deserve it. I cringe to think where the team would be with a different coach at the helm.. Despite the loss of Krejci and Chara, the team maintained .500 or better hockey more often than not and are still in the playoff hunt when they could have easily been so far in a hole that it would have been impossible to overcome.

There isn't much he can do except give up assets for rentals. Who wants that. The only move I would make is for a big guy to light Lucic's butt.

I actually do think that Chia has to make earlier moves to set up later ones. If we don't have the kind of prospects the sellers want, maybe an even-Steven trade on prospects sets him up for something else.

Or maybe he's trying to get young wingers for 2016

It's more than a meme. The remnants of the 2011 championship team went over the cliff together this year. It's happened to past championship teams in all sports; good one year, gone the next. Claude can't direct a modernday NHL offence, that's not his strongsuit; the defence is merely keeping his team's head above water, and the weak schedule this past November helped maintain that .500 hockey level. We will see how it plays out.

When Ryan Spooner goes Ryan Hockey its Julien's fault

He sacrificed Spooner for one year of Campbell

Spooner for Gormley I bet

I agree that it is likely Spooner going, but I'd take that bet about it being Gormley coming back. Just got recalled and had a great game. I think they are moving Michalek or Summers out (possibly Yandle if the return is huge) and putting Gormley in there for the rest of the year.

Kirk info is as good as gold so I'm looking forward to seeing what comes of this. It makes sense as when you kick tires on bigger names throughout the league you find that certain prospect and role players are available when you didn't know/think they were.

fwiw: I'm still interested in Calgary as an outsiders bet --I think there was something there before the season started and that died when the Flames came out of the gate 100mph. Now that they have fallen back to earth, they may be looking to deal.

A lot of love for Gormley on this board, what is so great about him?

Played with Dougie during the WJC if I'm not mistaken. He's simply a solid D prospect that has a good chance of being a 1st or 2nd pairing guy, which is what we are going to eventually need with Chara (and Seids) on the decline.

People expecting top prospects for Spooner are going to be disappointed. Clode has done his very best to ruin his trade value by refusing to play him and going to the media to trash him.

You're right on the first line.

Second line, I agree that it was bush league to publically trash him, but that was for an ulterior motive.

Either way, you're right...Gormley isn't coming back for Spooner or Khokhlachev unfortunately. I know we'll be pretty underwhelmed.

Seguin trade was a mistake. Not because we traded him, but because of what we got back in return.

Boychuk trade was a bad mistake, not just because we got 2 2nd round picks, but because we didn't flip those picks immediately for something useful. I would have rather done a 3-way trade to get a helpful player in return. But we got nothing to show for this year.

Bruins are slumping. Yes they can play better, but they need a shakeup. Dear santa, just GET TAYLOR HALL and see what happens next!
