They’ve scored 3 or more goals in 16 of the last 17 games. With the defense they play they unsurprisingly had points in 15 of them. You have to replace someone to get another pure goal scorer, is it TT? Because you know the Staal line isn’t getting touched.
Calgary is looking for a top 6 player. If they would take Turbo, i’d sell a lot to get Meier.

I suspect TT’s trade value is diminished given his slow start.

I mean crappy goaltending aside (and why are they always hurt?) from what I've noticed the Canes run into two distinct scenarios that lead to them losing. One is their franchise long problem- running into an intimidating team that out muscles them. The other is more recent- certain teams with decent goaltending have figured out that when they get ahead all they need to do is collapse to the net and clog the slot up with bodies blocking shots, preventing cross ice passing and laying on the ice to stop close in shots. And absent puck-luck, the Canes have no answer for that. The other team is happy to let the Canes pepper their bodies with shots from the perimeter all game. IDK what the answer to that is- maybe this Patches fellow can snipe at a distance or something.

They're both the same problem. Guys too small or weak to get to the paint and bang in an ugly goal.

Playing a heavy cycling game requires strength and size.

Speed and skill don't always want to hold the o zone because it's easier for players like that to generate higher quality chances off the rush.

Since we're not changing our strategy moving a small forward or two for bigger guys would benefit the team.

I'd move TT or Jarvis for a big pure scorer in a hockey trade. I'd add picks on top for someone willing to crunch Trouba.

Stickpuckers thoughts of the game:
*Stastny actually looked good last night ..more of that please
*Patches didn't look too rusty.
*hopefully his physicality rubs off on some other guys
*we need a garbage goal man or two
*Saros had a great game
*Turbo and Jarvis.....woof
*still need to try Skjei on pp2
*did Koochie lose his mojo in NY?
*the team played really well....kokomiami seemed to feed off patches.

I'll admit in thread I am not a logic guy but After the game I try to be better. (I'm also a very terrible comedian)

also TT being MIA isn't good (Offensively) Aho is also mostly MIA..
Lots of guys not providing what we expect atm..
And Patches looked better then I expected.. But yeah he isn't in Game shape.. (Not unexpected)

yes KK did play well , seems every time he plays good Rod plays him less , he should maybe stay on the 4th like but play more on the PP ,Tevo sucked all year (he plays weak like someone has a hard time lifting 5 pound weights) , he better get a paycut next contract or bye bye
Pesce seems slow this year , i think we're fine upfront we need 2 defensemen to replace chats and Dehaan should be a back up 7th
I'm sorry but Chatfield is the least of our worries. If anything, he's been really good as a 5/6 D guy.
DeHaan on the other hand has not been good the last 2 weeks or so. At the TDL I think they replace deHaan with a PP qb type guy (Klingberg or Ghost?) or a bruiser (Gudas).

I’m glad Kooch is coming back to earth a bit, the expectations were getting out of hand and to be honest he’s left shooters chances to pick him apart like Forsberg did….they were gonna start hitting them eventually.

That first pp with Patches looked really good at least. I can see him being deadly with us.

I checked, we’re still leading the division.
