I'm sure some are real mad here, but whatevs. It was still kinda fun to watch. Koch will get it figured out. Patches looked like an interesting fit. I think you'll tend to win a lot with performances like this, but you do lose sometimes.

That’s hockey for you. Canes scored enough goals to win, and piled on about 30 extra shots on top of that. I’m guessing all the possession metrics resemble a 3:1 ratio. It was a dominant game.

But goalies are part of the team. It’s valid to win on goaltending alone. That’s hockey.

yes KK did play well , seems every time he plays good Rod plays him less , he should maybe stay on the 4th like but play more on the PP ,Tevo sucked all year (he plays weak like someone has a hard time lifting 5 pound weights) , he better get a paycut next contract or bye bye
Pesce seems slow this year , i think we're fine upfront we need 2 defensemen to replace chats and Dehaan should be a back up 7th

League AVERAGE shooting would give us 6-7 goals in that game, we had 3...less than half of average. Kooch gets a lot of blame on that one for letting in 3 relative softies, but damn I'm tired of giving our forwards excuses for shooting like dogshit

Rod does like and trust the kid. He might want to let him play through it. Raanta had two tough games before the break and then came back with the shutouts. I don't really think there's a problem with starting either.

seems to me our goalies past few year been Glassware lol i remember watching hockey in the 80's where it was way rough and dirty and players would play with broken legs hands , huge slash in the face , what happened to that

I mean crappy goaltending aside (and why are they always hurt?) from what I've noticed the Canes run into two distinct scenarios that lead to them losing. One is their franchise long problem- running into an intimidating team that out muscles them. The other is more recent- certain teams with decent goaltending have figured out that when they get ahead all they need to do is collapse to the net and clog the slot up with bodies blocking shots, preventing cross ice passing and laying on the ice to stop close in shots. And absent puck-luck, the Canes have no answer for that. The other team is happy to let the Canes pepper their bodies with shots from the perimeter all game. IDK what the answer to that is- maybe this Patches fellow can snipe at a distance or something.

Too many of them have CTE, can’t walk, or are dead.

4 goals in 24 shots thats Rantaa stats , amny of the goals were deflected , While Rantaa were weak ,
