Is there a similar chart for assists per hour lol.

I do feel like he's been incredibly unlucky in that regard but he's probably trading places with Hughes on such a chart
at Even-Strength? He's comparable to Hughes. Hughes had 14 Even-Strength Assists @ 19minutes per game in his d+2 season.

Hughes has taken off in his d+3 season. I honestly expect the same from Laffy.

You think he'll be as good as Hughes? That would destroy Devils fans

There different type of players. If I had to choose, I'd take Laffy in the playoffs though. ( even Kakko's game should translate better )

The goal is to win a Cup(s). Would you take Gretzky or Messier? Gretzky never won without Messier... but Messier won without Gretzky.

Having a lefty in the bumper role with Panarin passing from the right side isn't exactly ideal.

A. Don't underestimate the high redirect play.
B. Panarin Fox and Laf could all rotate spots at any point to confuse the PK. The PP is bad when everyone is standing still hoping for a magical cross seam. But when they all start moving the cross seam to Ziba opens up.

I know exactly what you mean and I'd take Messier over Gretzky in every context.

The re-direct is really the only play there with a LH shot in the bumper. Makes the pass from the wall to down low to the bumper harder too for Kreider with a LH shot there. It's not going to be conducive for Laf scoring on the PP like people think it would.

If ever there was a case for correlation not being the same thing as causation...

True but at some point we'll need him to get us to the playoffs as the vets decline/fall off the roster.

^ We're secretly trading him to the Canucks (for miller), the Coyotes (for Chychrun), the Habs for... stuff... and the Leafs for... uhh... other stuff... all to happen at the draft.

Just ask the fans of these teams. I guess we have four different Lafrenieres.

It depends on the lefty. One play that was run quite a bit when the Rangers didn't have this personnel was Brassard making that seam pass to Zuke in the slot for a re-direct. Worked a few times, but they didn't have a legit one timer on the opposite circle, so it got shut down pretty quick.

Something else having a lefty in that spot would do is give Zibanejad a shot option for him to make a pass into the slot. Think the Dallas goal that he scored on, but you do it on the opposite side.

Strome in that spot right now is not the best place for him. He doesn't shoot, so he's not a shoot option for Panarin to pass to on that side. It's not like TJ Oshie for the Caps when he would be firing away because they isolated Ovechkin cause of his shot. Think about that 6 on 5 goal he scored vs Edmonton. Strome is not setting up that way.

It would also give a different look if they do move around, where a lefty could be on that halfwall when rotating. Right now, and this is even as the PP is ranked as high as it is, there is really only 2 shot options, Mika and Fox. A third shot option would open things even more.
