Also this is a better draft (at least from what most say who knows) so middle to 20's may be more along the lines of what Dach got.I would look for similar value to what Dach got from Montreal, maybe slightly more since Lafreniere has been better over their 1st 3 seasons. A pick in the 10-15 range.
I'm not in a "Laf is untouchable" mindset. A pick in the 10 range THIS year may actually net you a better player... or Laf may take off and the pick never make it... It's certainly a gamble.I would look for similar value to what Dach got from Montreal, maybe slightly more since Lafreniere has been better over their 1st 3 seasons. A pick in the 10-15 range.
No excuses for his lack of scoring, but the rest of his play was pretty good. Especially compared to team performance.eh he somehow had a 62 corsi and a 72 xGF% last night while the rest of the team was getting absolutely slaughtered, so that's not nothing. it never translates into actual production, but it's not nothing. at least he was moving the puck to the opposing end of the ice, which cant be said for most of the rest of the team.
If someone would give us a top-10 pick this draft for him I take and laugh all the way to the bankI'm not in a "Laf is untouchable" mindset. A pick in the 10 range THIS year may actually net you a better player... or Laf may take off and the pick never make it... It's certainly a gamble.
Well I meant 10-12, but still. Honestly, I LIKE Laf, and I would do it.If someone would give us a top-10 pick this draft for him I take and laugh all the way to the bank
You sure about that, if the Rangers are doing the picking?I'm not in a "Laf is untouchable" mindset. A pick in the 10 range THIS year may actually net you a better player... or Laf may take off and the pick never make it... It's certainly a gamble.

lol at least he got a shot offThe 2 on 1 with Trocheck at the start of the second was it for me. It's a clear 2 on 1, the defender is 100% committed to the pass giving Laf a lane to the net, and Laf decides to stop staking above the circle, telegraph that he's shooting, and takes a wrister right into schmids glove. Just pathetic. Show some drive, keep your feet moving, make a play. Do something. Just really disappointing.

Zbad gets “a pass” as you put it because he is elite at some things & Laf won’t be close to elite at anythinglol at least he got a shot off
10 seconds into the game zibs has a 2 on 1 and doesnt even get a shot
but yeah laf sucks ass, zibs get a pass because f*** idk why....
See, I don't get this mindset. Zibs gets a pass? His failure is a lot more responsible for this collapse than Laf's failure... Don't get me wrong, I'm not hating on Mika, but as far as who was MORE disappointing in this series? It's not even close IMO.Zbad gets “a pass” as you put it because he is elite at some things & Laf won’t be close to elite at anything
Zibs shot ALONE is worth 5 Lafs
for reference, zibanejad was drafted 6th overall and his age 21 season had a whopping 46 pointsZbad gets “a pass” as you put it because he is elite at some things & Laf won’t be close to elite at anything

Getting value will be a problem. Selling low is a panic move. It's all fun and games until Drury trades Lafreniere for Conor Garland or Josh Anderson. I'd love to see the reactions here when that happens, because its 10x more likely outcome than us trading him for another draft pick
He's a big shot telegrapher. No subtlety looking off the goalie or the like. The quicker you skate, the more added speed to the shot. Instead he slows down hoping for a passing lane, then is forced to shoot into a square goalie with no speed. Sometimes it feels he's still got that juniors mentality of being able to beat the goalie clean with a shot. It almost always takes more for 85% of NHLers of which is he is currently included in. Kakko can learn to do that too, though he's got a better release than Laf which helps hide his intents better. The 2 on 1 with Trocheck at the start of the second was it for me. Most 1st overall drafted players usually get 20 min 1st line ice time a night on bad teams while Laf have not earned it, the coach did not give him ice time he needed to succeed due to being a playoff teams and vets come first hereThe problem around here has always been expectations. He he become a superstar? No but he is still a young player figuring it out. I understand he was the 1O pick but you can’t go overboard and label him a bust or want to get rid of him
Lol yeah I agree. Zibs sucked this series too. But to me, Zibs 2 on 1 was a bit more forced, he was much further outside, with a diving defender, maybe he should of shot, but still feels like an easy save. I wanted Laf to try something like Mika did. Use some skill to try and create a very high danger scoring chance. It might not of worked, but not many clean wristers from above the hash go in these days.lol at least he got a shot off

I thought Fox's face looked a little round in the pressbox before the season began. It's like the 70's for some guys in Rangersland using the preseason to get into shape between cigarettes, instead of coming in at peak condition and working on skating and timing instead like I'm sure Kreider, Zbad and Miller probably do. Fox has slowed down at the end of the season a few times now, sometimes injuries or whatever, but coming in to camp out of shape aint helping matters. Was with a friend last weekend who works with hockey kids and a few NHL players and he did the preseason body fat % testing with the Rangers. Said Laf showed up 24% and was fat. Panarin doesn’t train in the offseason. Fox doesn’t train in the offseason. These guys don’t have the guts to last a full season.

mika put himself in a bad position, its inexcusable to not even get a shot on netLol yeah I agree. Zibs sucked this series too.
