Actually thought this was one of his better games, and one of the better players on the ice.

I hope he figures it out and has a decent career somewhere, shit just doesn’t work out sometimes and he probably won’t work out here.

I still have the same question I have since basically day 1. Leaving aside the skill issue for a second, where's the fire? Where's the PIA competitor who wants to make a difference?
Surely a #1OA relishes the challenge of competition and proving that they are up for it?
On and off the ice, you almost wouldn't know that this kid is a Ranger, and that he was once touted as a top prospect

Could not care less if he plays another game for us.

The same can be said for everyone except for Fox and Shesterkin. Lindgren just for personal fandom. And honestly? I don’t see a way out of all the crap contracts and poor drafting, so I’m not even sure I’d be overly upset if we decided to move those guys either.

This is probably the most disgusted by this team I’ve been in years.

It is part of the coaching staff as well - it cant be a concidence when so many youngsters underperform with Gallant and other development coaches.
I dont even remember a young player in the last 10 years who did well Skjei maybe, Zuccarello of course since he was undrafted. Igor is doing very well though and our goaltending coach, but we cant have 3v1 defender as the devil scored on us because we lack overall speed so they need to rethink the whole project.

Right there with you! This team is f***ed for a very long time. Place blame where ever you can…but these kids busting as badly as they have will set this team back a decade.

This player makes me want to just take three months off from work just to watch every single game he played in juniors to figure out if we ruined him or if every scout on the planet got it completely wrong.

Scouts can definitely get it wrong. Our system also doesn't cater to young talent. There's a very comprehensive bust list for the NHL and it's more real than any of Laf's advanced stats will be.

It’s not just the youngsters. Everybody on this team underperforms at 5v5. So if all you have is 5v5 minutes, you’re going to look pretty bad. Laf might be a complete bust, but I’d like to see this team with a more structured system and some more speed to compliment him (and Kakko) before labeling him a bust.

Unfortunately, this playoffs has shown how much faster the game has gotten and we might’ve just caught two rough picks where skating is below average. It makes finding more speed throughout the lineup even more pressing.

Get this guy in the gym. He has to make the transformation like Kakko did last summer.

He must train at Prentiss. Go home for a week and come back ready to work. If he refuses, it's time to move on.

I agree, it's pretty strange. It's just like he's satisfied with being a 3rd/4th line player that will never be remembered (in a good way) once he's gone. He shows absolutely nothing most nights....it really is mind blowing reading those old scouting reports.
