He had his window with the organization and it closed. I don't discount the possibility he could still be a PP2, 3rd pair RD for the Predators long term. He was just gonna get passed over here in short order.

Exactly - he was getting passed next year. They could get value that helps them this year and give Barron a fresh start.

I believe that Hutson can take up alot of Matheson's minutes but I don't think the Habs are ready to move Matheson or Savard yet.
