OV is only attending the KHL legend Zaripovs last game in KHL, all other stuff you are reading is just complete garbage. People are so gullible it annoys me. Obviously we cannot see the future, but right now these are the facts.

Ovechkin will be entering his age 38 season. How many goals do you predict for him this season?

Most goals age 38 season:

1. Brett Hull - 37
2. Johnny Bucyk - 31
3. Martin St. Louis - 30
4. Joe Pavelski - 28

I have a MGM bet for over 50 :)

Teemu did 30 goals at age 40 recently

Ovechkin ranked outside the top 75...lower than...checks notes...Hampus Lindholm, Connor Bedard, Pavel Buchnevich, Clayton Keller, Mackenzie Weegar, Matty Beniers, John Tavares, Vince Dunn and Zach Werenski. Ranked in the same tier as Evan Bouchard and Adam Pelech. To the bulletin board.

Structurally IMO the issue is there needs to be a stronger forward than a 38-year old Ovechkin at this point. Ideally it would be a play-driving center but hard to know where that's coming from. I expect 92/19 to be better but both are unlikely to reach that level again. Pretty much everything should be guided with that in mind going forward if they're realistically going to do much damage while #8 is still around.

Ovie was OK 5 x 5 last year, outside the top 30 and just below guys like Brock Nelson, Tuch, and Pavelski, and just above Kaprizov, Kopitar, and Gaudreau. Pretty good - but no longer elite. If that’s where he’s at again, then a lot of other guys are going to have to step up 5x5 or their season will be a tough watch.
