We have up picks that have a slim chance at becoming NHL regulars...

He's on pace for career best goals, points & sh%. If you expected an elite top 6 player out the gate, your expectations were likely misplaced.

He's inconsistent as he adapts to the bigger role, new coach/system/teammates, not very surprised.

If he stays on track for a 40+ pt season, I'd say it's a pretty good year 1
I am hoping for Mark Napier type, 30 goal scorer with speed.

I don't hate his game with nick , him and anderson is another story though

What did we give for this guy? Bring something apart from speed dude!
nothing significant

you guys expected a free 60 point player right of the bat with a late first and second? Sounds like a you problem

He's still on pace to have his best season for goals, assists and points.

15-20-35 would be acceptable.

Right now, I'm sticking with the I would have preferred the prospects rather than Newhook.

That said, Newhook could be used as part of a package to trade for an improvement next off-season, or the year after potentially.

Alex Newhook is exactly what I was expecting so far. Useless. And they gave two good picks for that.

It's very important that we have no patience with young players, and play them with vets with no hockey sense and play them out of position.

These are the pillars of a team that develops its youth well and wins championships.

Anderson needs to play on a line with Dvorak and Gallagher.

Those guys play the same regardless, Anderson playing his way won't disrupt them.

Anderson was great with RHP last year. I'd like to see them together, whether the center is Dvo, Monahan, or even Suzuki while he's separated from Caufield.

Avs fans warned ya.

One of those picks was turned into Ross Colton. Doesn't have that many points but 5 goals and is a big energy guy for the Avs. He's really been a huge part of helping the Avalanche play with more than 1 and a half lines. 1st, 3rd and 4th lines are rolling this year.

The 1st was used to take a late first rounder that's over in the KHL... so we all know how that goes.

Getting Colton for the second round pick was a smart trade for the Avalanche.

funny... he's on pace for career-best g & points, and has been fine defensively in the increased minutes/role. His production has been streaky, 2 near ppg stretches and 2 goose egg stretches, while playing with the black hole that Anderson has been almost every game. No stretch to suggest that his play would easily have translated to more points thus far without pucks dying on Anderson's stick so regularly.

Far from useless, what an odd perception, almost as if you had a pre-conceived notion and would rather stick to that than watch the games.

I haven't been able to watch much of the Habs, I see he's got 1 goal in the last 16 games, that's um something. Maybe giving up a 1st and a 2nd for him wasn't the best idea for a team that could be rebuilding for several more years.
Habs did a shooting drills practice yesterday because the entire team can't score (excluding today's game, the drills seems to have somewhat worked).

Tied for 3rd on goals on the team while being hip tied to absolute offensive blackholes for the most part of the season.

Should be with Monahan and Ylonen if going by merit.

Gallagher has earned his spot in the top 9. But it's time for Ylonen or RHP to take a spot in the top 9 and bounce Pearson to the 4th line.

A player with good hockey sense like Monahan would be great for a fast player with a shot and some scoring touch like Ylonen.

Newhook - Suzuki/Monahan- Ylonen
Caufield - Monahan/Suzuki - Slafkovsky
Anderson - Dvo - RHP/Gallagher
Pearson - Evan's - Gallagher/RHP/Pez
