I'd be shocked if he passes 30 points on this team, if he could barely do it in Colorado. I hope I'm wrong, I don't see the point of trading a late 1 and early 2 for him, he is no Kirby Dach far as potential from what I've seen. Whatevs
He’ll 100% score more than 30 points, i don’t think that’s even a question.

He’ll probably be on PP1 as a shooting option other than Caufield. He has a pretty good shot.

Playing more than 13 minutes a night with guys like Caufield/Suzuki/Dach will help a ton, i’m sure.

Drouin hit 29 points last season. Dvorak 28. They both missed a lot of time too. Newhook easily surpasses 30.

We can revisit this in January 😅

I’m honestly not sure if you’re trolling or not, but I bet he’s pretty happy, he’s from Newfoundland, and I bet his friends and family are all pumped to have him on (one of) the local team.
Im pretty sure his family are Habs fans too. He comes from an excellent sporting family and a very solid kid from what I hear, that does a lot of community activities.

The guy might not pan out but I don’t know how people watch his highlights and see anything less than top 6 skills.

No 3rd liner has a release like that. He also has speed.
Definitely top 6 skills. Pair him with Dach and let them complement each other!

I've said it already if he is smart enough to give an go with either Suzuki or Dach he's already better than what we've had in recent years on the wing.
Getting either of those players the puck at the right time will cause havoc with his speed and ability to handle a return pass. I pull my hair out when I don't see the bolded happening with Hoffman or Anderson etc...

I think he played with Cogliano and O’Connor in Colorado.

He will have more opportunities with the Habs.

Avs were decimated with injuries last year too.

so nothing from him in 10 days except a small line on instagram?

what's up?
Latest I could find on Twitter:

There must be a good reason that he hasn’t given a presser yet.

Checked his Instagram and all he posted are pics in an Avs uniform.

Avs were decimated with injuries last year too.

Cogliano and O'Connor were his most common linemates by a significant margin, the other lines are more of a reflection of the Av's extreme injury situation including playing with as few as 10 forwards so Rantanen was double shifting on the 3rd and 4th lines.

He's from Newfoundland where only 3 NHL teams are cheered for.
Montreal
Toronto
Boston
Not that it really matters, and I don’t know him personally but quite a few friends grew up with him or have played with his dad. From what I remember his family are Habs fans.

Just adding context as from what I know of the kid, I’d imagine he’s pretty happy to play for Montreal.

Also, while you’re right about the majority of people in NL(and who they’re fans of), there’s lot of other fans of other teams, especially among younger people.
