f*** it dude, I’m watching Die Hard.
I was watching dumb and dumber yesterday. I told my wife how the Kings could make a movie under the same title starring their NHL head coach and the AHL head coach, but she didn’t seem to get it.

Really bummed about Vilardi, he turned the corner. Not worried about any other asset moved.

A lot of folks haven't watched PLD and just read message boards apparently, because he's one hell of a player. The Kings have too many scoring forwards and this alleviates that somewhat, and as far as talent goes they got the best player in the deal and he's 25. It's also a good contract for what he brings. Gabe had a breakout year and Iafallo was solid, yet PLD only had 14 points less than those two combined. And he outscored those two on the PP by 5 points. I don't buy the Blake got fleeced argument, It's basically Vilardi a 2nd, and a year of AI. Kupari is solid but nothing out of the ordinary.

Fit is my major worry, how TM deploys him is a legit concern. The team is stacked down the middle, they certainly won't have to go 1-3-1 and hang on for dear life against the Oilers again.

Love that the Kings Twitter universe is already spinning this into Vilardi didn’t want to sign with the Kings anyway.

He should have honored the contract and informed the team that at the end of it he wouldn't resign. It is very possible that he could very well do the same thing to the Kings. Say after a year or two things are not going as he planned and tells the Kings he wants a trade because he really wants to be with Montreal. Would that be quitting in your view or just him being traded to a team he really didn't want to go to. Plus if he didn't want to go to Winnipeg he should have refused the trade and even sit out the season but he went, didn't he.

This post is ridiculous, I’m sorry. If he doesn’t want to resign, he doesn’t owe anybody anything. I’d rather him say now and trade to get something out of it instead of letting him walk for nothing.

What are you going on about? He did honor the contract and told Winnipeg he wasn’t going to sign with them.

Also, players can’t refuse to report. Ask Yashin.

No he didn't. He still had one year left on his contract with the Jets. The issue is he has done this to two different teams and what makes one think he will not do the same to the Kings. His heart is really with the Canadiens and that is where he will wind up, maybe not this coming season could be the next. We will see how it plays out. If he sticks with the Kings and plays out his full contract, I will eat my words and admit I was wrong.

Well he quit on the Blue Jackets and now wanted out of Winnipeg. I think that is quitting.
Obviously I don't know for sure, but once again. Drafted by Columbus, not his choice. Traded to Winnipeg, not his choice. Signed long term with LA, HIS Choice. And like he's the only athlete ever to not want to play for a certain team/team. He will finally be where he wants to play. He'll have a career year next year, bet on it.

I think you’re making it a bigger deal than it needs to be. I’d agree with you if he just signed a 5 yr deal and then wanted out after one season. Players don’t need to play out their contracts.

I’m not a big fan of 8 yrs though and that’s for most players.

Good luck to pl diva in the land of divas, Hollywood California. I think he fits in just fine honestly.

We doing good, fam! Believe it or not we're still partying like it's 2012/2014! (we can't pick a year because it's all been a blur ever since)

Nothing better than watching the beach bunnies with big teeth bouncing gleefully on the shoreline. Should you ever want out of that frozen tomb I'll buy the first round of margaritas with those cute little, colorful umbrellas. Throw in some birria tacos and a sombrero and you've got yourself one hell of a diva experience you couldn't write as a Hollywood script!

Oh, cool, so as long as he gets what he wants, we can expect plenty from him then? What if he has to play with players that aren't his choice?

PLD has hit the 60+ point mark three times. He would have been the Kings fourth leading scorer this year. At least when the Kings paid less to get Richards, he would have been the second-leading scorer on the Kings that year. He had 2 60+, 1 70+, and 1 80 point season ALSO before the Kings acquired him. Carter also had an 80+ point season. The comparisons to either of them with PLD is some insane copium.

I don't think I compared him to anybody. I am looking at it from a human pshyci stand point. He obviously wasn't thrilled with either place, and his production was on par with not giving a shit for his talent. Just really think if he's a happier puppy, that will equate to more effort, and that will equate to more points, etc...
