So where does this now leave Turcotte? Looks like he headed toward the wing at best. No matter how well he does, Lizzo is a GM and coaches favorite and he'll never get a shot. I can see him being moved at some point.

Turcotte’s value is probably a 3rd round pick. He should have been moved long ago, once Byfield and Danault were added in there was no role. Also his NCAA season should have raised huge red flags about upside. But Blake is late to admitting mistakes. And chose to hold Turcotte rather than use him to fill other holes while his value was higher.

A this point it’s just better to hold him and see if he can develop into a 3rd or 4th line energy guy like Lizotte, but with more skill and size.

Lol, 4 for 1 plus a bunch of money on the books for the 1. Who is a second line center on any theoretical champion team?

Can’t wait for these idiots in management to go down in flames trying to win off the legacy of the last GM. If history repeats itself our next GM should bring us a cup in like 10 years from now,
The snow needed to be cleared of the driveway.
However these are not the guys I wanted mowed by Blakes snow plow.
Except for DUrzi, I wanted Lizotte, Grundstrom and Arvi, because he is expiring and their small statures , moved.

I expect Vilardi and PLD to put up very similar numbers over the next few seasons. PLD will likel play with Fiala (who is a great winger) but a very good chance Vilardi plays with Kyle Connor (who is better than Fiala), will get #1PP time and I could see him even being on the #1 line with Connor even if Schiefele stays. Vilardi emerges into a star on the Jets. Even Iafalo I think puts up 50+ pts on the Jets every year. He's a very underrated versataile winger who has a knack for scoring big goals in the playoffs. I could see Alex having great success playing on Schiefele's wing and essentially being Blake Wheelers replacement.
Iafalo is a 40 point guy, he spent time playing with Kopitar, and was not a a dynamic scorer. He is what he. Good forecheck and chip in with some goals. Better served in a bottom 6 vs top 6

Gabe scored 11 goals first 6 weeks of the year. And 12 the rest. There wasnt consistency. Great hands with 1 good season in his career. Injuries have slowed his progression. This season will be an indicator of where his path will go. Hopefully he will get through injury free that would be a big step for him.

Kings are loaded at center, to compete with Knights and Oilers you are going to need 3 strong centers

Not sure if an actual rumor or something just speculates but saw something about how the Kings haven't even talked to Vilardi's agent yet.
Without an earlier offer?
Could be Blake is over Vilardi's injury propensity.
Especially if last years was related to prior ones.
This is the reason, I am not judging this trade until seasons end and beyond.

Well Kings fans, lets hope that PLD will perform to the level he is capable of because he is a King now.

So, any reason you called Vilardi a “point-per-game player” in the other thread despite it being factually untrue by any metric?

Apparently a 53 point pace is “point-per-game”, so what’s that make a 70 point pace, a 100 point player?

So you are saying Gabe Vilardi is going to be a star 1C despite playing so poorly as a C that he was moved to wing?

Alex Iafallo is going to score 50 points when his career high is 43?

And I thought I had my months worth of lies and half-truths listening to Mark Yannetti on those podcasts.

But hey, the Kings should have demanded CH in the trade too, right. Isn’t that what you said?

A 25 year old 2C who scored at a 70 point pace and a Vezina winning goaltender is apparently worth a 24 year old RW who scored at a 53 point pace, Iafallo, Kupari and a 2nd.

Now to see who the starting goalie is going to be next season. Kings have some flexibility, but I would prefer them not to overpay for another middling goalie like they did with Petersen. If it takes a pick to acquire Vladar, so be it, I’ll take that chance versus a $5M goalie who peters out.
I would take the unpopular opinion of a one year with Korpi with the faithful promise that we expect very good tending and we would then extend him next summer.
Worded that way, we have an out if he underperforms.
We will see if it happend or if Blake trades his rights at the draft as an indicator.

Now here’s a great option, but sadly I don’t think Vegas will be doing any favors for a division rival. Might need an intermediary to pull it off.

The deal is done, let’s see how the team does with the new lineup. There are lots of changes and it might take a little while for the team to mold. I hated to lose GV, but you have to give to get. On other deals, we cleared up our backlog on D, giving Clarke and Spence opportunities to make the team. Arvy might be the next to go, or perhaps Tonka - to give enough cap to sign a goalie and the rest of our RFAs.
I’ve been a long time Kings fan and hated when they traded Harper and Maloney for Dionne, then I watched him for a dozen years. Wasn’t thrilled with the Richards deal, but he was a key for us winning 2 Cups. I’m trying to keep an open and optimistic mind with this team.

Yes but he will be bid up maybe higher than Korpi.
I would still sign Korpi pre draft and acquire a third if you like one better, until you make another trade to get back down to 2 goalies.
I don't like recently inured goalies, was it more than once this year?

The Kings might start with Conaughton, Moverare and Bjornfot up and Clarke and Spence pushing each other in the AHL.
Shop and evaluate the first three, before making adjustments by the deadline.

With the offense of the traded already gone, it seems like Blake will ride til later with Arvi.
Giving up the slight grit of Lizotte and Grundstrom, who I previously wished traded is now also a concern.
So I feel roster handcuffed right now and Blake will have to Houdini for a good tender or ride the risk of Copley and a backup until closer to the deadline.
