I look at it this way, last year those 3 guys and a pick do not get you PLD.
Sell high...

Rob Bleak is definitely high, that’s for damn sure.I look at it this way, last year those 3 guys and a pick do not get you PLD.

Yes, but PLD also benifitted from having much better linemates.PLD had 27 goals last season while most likely facing tougher quality of opponent than Vilardi. I know the 5v5 scoring stat has been bandied about on here between the two. Not taking away from Vilardi but I can't imagine him getting the same respect from opposing teams when it comes to match-ups.
PLAYER | EVEN STRENGTH GOALS | OZ START % | STRENGTH OF COMPETITION | QUALITY OF LINEMATES |
Vilardi (63gp) | 18 | 54% | 33% | 45% |
Dubios (73gp) | 16 | 60% | 57% | 91% |
Iafallo (59gp) | 11 | 51% | 50% | 67% |
Nah, fans are bi-polar. Gabe had a good season, it's his only one. Hopefully he continues to have more, but he still has a lot to prove.Rob Bleak is definitely high, that’s for damn sure.
Also older, a long term deal would've almost entirely been in his 30sPerhaps that player was not made available to us, CGY wont want to trade him inside the conference, that happens frequently.
So Jets fan explains the obvious. Kings way overpaid for a player that likes to quit on his team.As a Jets fan, I must say, Cheveldayoff has an uncanny ability to get more than he should.
He traded Andrew Copp and a round 6 pick in the 2024 draft at the deadline for Morgan Barron, conditional round 1 pick in the 2022 draft (Brad Lambert), conditional round 2 pick in the 2022 draft (Elias Salomonsson) and round 5 pick in the 2023 draft.
I hope PLD continues his development and gives 100% in Los Angeles.
Wasn't 33% though.Yes, but PLD also benifitted from having much better linemates.
Also, it doesn't even appear PLD was getting the toughest matchups.

Vilardi scored more ES goal while playing less games and having worse linemate.

Nah. Our roster is shit and the only kid we had that was doing anything was just shipped off to the land of huffing gas fumes.Nah, fans are bi-polar. Gabe had a good season, it's his only one. Hopefully he continues to have more, but he still has a lot to prove.
Without posting a youtube video showing one 30 second shift, explain how he "likes to quit on his team".So Jets fan explains the obvious. Kings way overpaid for a player that likes to quit on his team.
Well he quit on the Blue Jackets and now wanted out of Winnipeg. I think that is quitting.Without posting a youtube video showing one 30 second shift, explain how he "likes to quit on his team".

He "quit" on them by signing an extension and then they traded him to Winnipeg where he signed a one year deal and then said he wasn't going to resign at the end of that contract?Well he quit on the Blue Jackets and now wanted out of Winnipeg. I think that is quitting.
I'm going to go out on a limb and say you (and most all of us) haven't watched many Blue Jacket or Jets games over the past four years when they weren't playing the Kings.Without acting like it’s an isolated incident, don’t act like it’s an isolated incident.
He should have honored the contract and informed the team that at the end of it he wouldn't resign. It is very possible that he could very well do the same thing to the Kings. Say after a year or two things are not going as he planned and tells the Kings he wants a trade because he really wants to be with Montreal. Would that be quitting in your view or just him being traded to a team he really didn't want to go to. Plus if he didn't want to go to Winnipeg he should have refused the trade and even sit out the season but he went, didn't he.He "quit" on them by signing an extension and then they traded him to Winnipeg where he signed a one year deal and then said he wasn't going to resign at the end of that contract?
Ok. So, because he didn't want to sign a long-term deal in a city he didn't choose to go to he's a quitter?
Man folks just really like to reinvent the meaning of words I guess.
For all the crap that PLD gets, and it's deserved, when he was "on" and gave a shit, he was a treat to watch.
I think I also hated the Fiala trade. Hoping for the best.
