Am I the only one to think that he may be better without Eller. I like Eller's game but his poor vision doesn't match well with Chuckie. 1 game and a half without Eller and he's been more active/efficient offensively.

I totally agree with you.

Habs will have decisions to make as early as next season at center. AG and Lars have to be considered the future, Pleks is entering his prime and incredibly valuable. I am not sure why there was a rush to sign Desharnais though? I just don't understand that one.

Many of us didn't understand that one.

Plekanec is key to this team. He'll stay.
Desharnais just signed an extension, he wont get moved.
Galchenyuk is our future, there's no reason to move him at all.
Odd man out here is Eller, sadly. Unless we force another season with Eller/Galchenyuk being on the third line, it'll be hard not to do something, as much as I like Eller.

Yes, tough to understand, but I guess they were thinking three things:

A) Pacioretty loves playing with Desharnais

B) If they get to a situation where they don't need him, he should have some pretty good value on the trade market.

C) Homegrown talent. With all the talk about keeping their Quebec born talent, they didn't want to look bad by letting him go for nothing.

Couldn't agree with you more, Eller's puck possession style of play seems to fit well on a third line, which Chucky doesn't seem to be comfortable in.

Eller and Galchenyuk are natural centers.. of course they won't gel very well..

If you want to use Galchenyuk at wing then you have this possibility

Pacioretty-Desharnais-Galchenyuk
Bourque-Plekanec-Gionta
Gallagher-Eller-Ryder
Prust-Halpern-White

DD and Pac are a little too fast-paced for Galchenyuk imo. Not that he won't be much faster than them soon but at the moment I prefer to see him play with a sniper like Ryder. He's very good at making quick and precise passes in the slot that a player like Ryder will be much more suited to take advantage of than any other winger in the lineup. His lack of speed but toughness will also give Galchenyuk a little more room and time to make good plays.

Switch Ryder and Gio and I think you have a good lineup

I'd go.

Pac-DD-Gallagher
Bourque-Plekanec-Gionta/Ryder
Prust/Moen-Eller/Galchenyuk-Ryder/Galchenyuk
Moen/Prust-Halpern-White

Can easily be done by keeping good records of TOI and how players are performing in any given game. I think it's important to see Galchenyuk at center before the end of the season. Eller and Galchenyuk are struggling to find each other on the ice, since they are both centers who are essentially trying to do the same kind of plays they are often out of position.

Ryder can easily be cut in 5vs5 TOI since he should be getting lots of PP time.

Ron Hainsey getting victimized by a hab player again.

Of course Eller and AGally don't mix. They both want the puck to make the play.

I really want to see a line of:

Pacioretty-Galchenyuk-Gallagher

I think that line could be very dominant, however, we'll probably have to wait a year to see it but I'm excited already!

Top 6 of:

Pacioretty-Galchenyuk-Gallagher
Clarkson-Plekanec-Ryder

Next year would be very exciting and dominant!

3rd line of Bourque-Eller-Gionta to add a bit more scoring!

Was watching the game on mute tonight while studying, saw Galchenyuk on TV.... gave my head a shake and decided to stop studying 'cuz I was going bonkers.

I guess I'm ok after all.

I know i'm a nitpicker... but this is what I think galchenyuk should improve to become a dominant player.

His hands are insane and he has good speed but for god sake he always stop moving his feets while deking.... why ???

If he could improve that part of his game his dekes would become more succesful and he would so much more dangerous.
