The Habs are winning games and Galchenyuk is getting valuable experience at the NHL level without having the pressure to need to score for his team. I think this has actually been a perfect development year for him and that this experience has been much better for him than if he had stayed in Junior.
Also, I don't see the reason the change the lineup around to 'get him going'. Habs are winning right now and you don't mess with a winning lineup just to get your rookie some points.

Since Sarnia, his OHL team, has been eliminated from the playoffs and their season is done, I believe he could technically be sent to the AHL now. Sarnia was swept by Plymouth in the first round. Chuckie could not, however, begin next season in the AHL. It would once again be either the NHL or OHL for him.

Time to move him away from Eller. Last night was one of his worst game. Play him with folks he can distribute the puck to and who play the simple game -- that is not Eller.
Edit: Like I said earlier, Eller himself is trying to find his own game. I don't think that's gonna help AGally. AGally should stick with Prust and add Moen, White, Halpern or whatever. Bourque can play with Eller.

While I agree his offensive flare is missing, he is not a defensive liability and has been making some solid plays in our own zone. No problem with leaving him where he is to. Great backchecking.
Exactly what I thought.
Plus I find that he's gaining some confidence along the boards and he seems less scared.
His physical game is clearly getting better. Still not good enough, but the progression is there.

Yep, no pressure to score some goals so he is taking advantage of it by tuning his defensive side that he clearly didnt need in juniour.
I remembering seeing him get back a couple times last night to break up the canes rush. Can't help but think that is his assignment right now. If you get a good rush going great, but make sure you get your ass back. Kinda got to ingrain in his head that you always have to work to get better at this level of the game, no matter how old you are, so let's go.

And he is playing like it IMO. The kid needs to get his own place and not be treated like a race horse.

I see a lack of key decision making on some plays, a hesitation. I also want him to be more greedy with the puck like Gallagher is. And, I mean greedy in a good way.
Having said this I'm not worried at all. I wouldn't be surprised if the little concerns in his game disappeared in the playoffs & he went right back to his "earlier in the season" dominance. He's also still getting the job done with assists. I loved how all the B's on the ice seemed mesmerized by "him/where the puck was" he flipped it back to Subban for the 2nd goal last Wednesday.

Adding Bourque to that line should be huge. I'd be totally fine if they sat AG but as of now there doesn't seem to be a pressing need for it except maybe for a little rest. He's played a lot of hockey for someone who barely played the year prior.
Encadré means being surrounded by a safe and responsible environment of people who help you stay focus on your professional goals.
He doesn't really need to do much more than what he's currently doing. He just needs to learn to deal with the realities of what the NHL is about. I think he lacks positioning, alertness and confidence, all things that get fixed with time and practice. Making creative plays is not an easy thing to do when you're a winger, I think MT wants him to play there so that he gets more experience shooting the puck and working along the boards, his physical game did improve in the past few weeks.
Guys like Joe Thornton who also went directly from the juniors to the NHL had a much harder time than him: 7pts in 50 GP.
I would compare Galchenyuk to Jason Spezza, although Alex is a little faster and more explosive but perhaps less of a sniper. When Spezza turned pro he played more than half a season in the AHL, so Galchenyuk will need to work harder to get ice-time and to build his confidence, which imo may be a better thing for his future.

Turning on him? Hardly. He's slowed down visibly though and I'm simply wondering if the Habs management will do something similar to what the Bruins did with Seguin.

THE KIDs knee took an arrow and he didn't play for a full year and then out of no where YOUR IN THE NHL..
