The Habs are winning games and Galchenyuk is getting valuable experience at the NHL level without having the pressure to need to score for his team. I think this has actually been a perfect development year for him and that this experience has been much better for him than if he had stayed in Junior.

Also, I don't see the reason the change the lineup around to 'get him going'. Habs are winning right now and you don't mess with a winning lineup just to get your rookie some points.

I tend to lean towards this.

Chuckie still has a high ceiling, I see this season as a learning experience. And hey, it's still not over yet. Playoffs to come.

One of the biggest things Chuckie needs to change in the offseason, his weight. He likes board play, which is a positive, however tends to get out-muscled quite often.

Still young though, plenty of time.

I think fatigue is getting to him too. He's already played 33 OHL games, 7 World Jr games and 38 NHL games this year for a total of 75 games. Note that he played a grand total of 8 games last year.

The assist he had last night (while it was a secondary assist) was all world and flashed fans a glimpse of his skill level.

He's had 2 assists this year where I went "wow"

He's got the talent, but right now he does seem to be a bit out of gas. I won't go say that he should play at 60% so in the third he can play at a 100%, but it's seems that he needs a break or a goal to get him full of spirit again.

Is there a way to get him to follow/join Patches program? Seen the videos and was amazed. Just my .02

In any case he's 19 and ALL ours! MWAHAHAHHAHAAAAAA! I agree with others in that he needs to use his first 4 steps better. He has the skill to do it. Just needs to realize it. He'll get there and when he does? Look out!

With Pleky out for a bit, does Chucky get moved back to center? I'd like to see that!

Maybe we should rest him on back to back nights and bring up other top 6 rookies for a game in those scenario's. aka give Collberg or Kristo a one game here and there.

You are easily impressed. It was a straight tape to tape pass that any NHLer are expected to do. Halpern pass to Prust was much much better.

Chucky will be good though, but lets not be amazed by routine plays. You know what.. you can.. I won't :)

Alex's two way play is off the boards for a guy picked 3rd overall and possibly ranked 1st overall.
When he gets his offensive game going, this young man will be one of the best centers in the league.

I just looked at the replay of the goal and Galchenyuk's pass is not WOW worthy LOL

Galchenyuk is looking *much* better at center, where he can roam freely and distribute the puck. One thing I hate about his game is his faceoff stance. It is really awkward and ineffective. Hopefully he works on it during the summer.

IMO he should try to take advantage of his release and just focus on getting pucks to the net like Pacioretty does. He's not getting his shot away fast enough for NHL D.

very well deserved! not only has he not hurt the team during his drought, which is a great sign for a rookie, he's been good.

Really solid game by him in a situation where the team needed him to be good and where fatigue could have been an issue. He either needs to play C or RW. No more LW please. He's so dangerous when he attacks on the right side of the ice.

If they put him back with Prust and Eller, it's OK to play him on RW since Prust can play LW.

Yup, his screen shots from the RW attacks always look like a threat + sick dekes
