Aho collides with Adam Fox; Fox leaves game with injury (Fox placed on LTIR)

It would be very shocking if he only shared his opinion on Ranger games and pro Rangers. But he doesn't...
Yeah former Ranger talking head is pandering to the fans of the larger market. Tale as old as time in the NHL

At the end of the day, Fox dangled his leg into Aho's path and got himself hurt. Sucks, but he only has himself to blame.

Fox tried to cut around him and pushed off, he didn't dangle his leg. At the end of the day, most of said it was interference not that he tried to take his knee out.

Fox skated into him. Hopefully he's okay though because right now he's the second best defender and would love to see a strong Norris race this year.

100% should have been an interference penalty, Aho intentionally tried to get in his way. I don't think he tried to go knee on knee on purpose and hit him, but that's as blatant of interference as you can get.

Rupp's take is bang on. He's not even calling Aho dirty.

Its not worth entertaining the thought that in any way shape or form that Aho was at fault for this hit. Fox is the only reason this went knee on knee. Fox knew what he was doing, tried to stick out his leg to clip Aho and it backfired. He did a stupid and it hurt himself.

Both of them are at fault, allthough it's an interference.
.Fox's skates are lined up to the goal and he's getting ready to move down between the dots. Where as Aho is facing Fox, while the puck is already down in the corner. Now Aho has two options there: either try to slow down Fox or let him get past you. Of course he's trying to slow down Fox and here's what Fox should've taken contact and let the play develop. Instead he tries to avoid the contact and their knees collide.

Running around here trying to twist things to the point where Fox tried to injure Aho is borderline crazy. I don't think Aho is a dirty player or that he intended to hurt anyone and neither is Fox.

So in the end, both of them put themselves in bad position and the outcome was result of those two actions.

im truly amazed at Rupp and some other former hockey players calling this interference

what.. since Fox doesnt have the puck Aho cant even go toward or be near him? hes just not allowed to be covered?

Fox tried to use edgework to get quickly get around and couldnt; thats not interference, thats an accidental collision

sheesh - I get Fox is a stud and beloved Ranger but to act like hes just allowed free open ice anywhere he goes is just not how the sport is or has ever been played

I’m kinda confused- is Aho going for a hit?

I don’t see any intentional knee, but he gives Fox no space in a situation where Fox can’t be hit. If Fox just takes a blatant interference hit I’d argue 2 games for Aho, but as is I wouldn’t make a ruling as it looked accidental. Which is just weird, but I’m honestly not sure what else you can really do. Wasn’t kneeing, imo, was Fox seemingly dodging an attempted hit, but you can’t prove intent so here we are.

Intentionally getting in a players way does not automatically constitute interference. It can be legal if done properly.

tell yourself whatever you want to tell yourself
That's definitely what you're doing.

Maybe it's interference. What it isn't is an attempt to injure, or even that dangerous of a play. Guys "interfere" all the time. It's a collision sport. It wasn't against the boards, it wasn't in the back, there was no crosscheck, there was no body extension, there was no stick work. Aho just got in his way, and Fox made a bad decision. If Fox just plows into him, he might actually get the call.

When is he eligible to come back? I guess the LTIR thing is more a cap move given how close they are to the ceiling and now need to replace two players with Chytil also.

This is going to come off as rude, but the Rangers have avoided some really bad injury luck over the past few years. If you want to really see how the Rangers can handle adversity, this is a good gauge.
