Aho collides with Adam Fox; Fox leaves game with injury (Fox placed on LTIR)

Looked like Aho actually pulled his leg in, didn't stick it out. Some people just look for anything to be upset about.
You’re not allowed to touch players on the chosen franchises. It’s not a good look for the league.

Again, Carolina plays man-to-man. Aho is staying close to Fox because leaving Fox wide open with no one near him is a recipe for a goal against. Do you expect every player on the ice to chase whoever has the puck at the time?
No NHL team plays “man to man”, its not basketball the game is way too fluid for that.

And even if that was true why would a center’s man be a dman.

The Rangers should have jumped Aho if he wasn’t willing as Trouba said he wasn’t with him or anyone on the Rangers. You have to protect your best player.

This wasn’t one of those Trouba hits like the one he threw on Crosby, it was a collision gone wrong. Why fight for a clean hit? It’s just stupidity and the reason why fighting has gotten ruined over the years.

I don’t see any intent by either play, they both played chicken about half second to long.

Trouba and Rags fans are just so embarrassing here. Aho did nothing at all wrong. What a pitiful bunch of losers who think he should "answer the bell" just because their little star player hurt his knee by being an idiot

I don't think he tried to get him with his knee. I don't think there was any intention of making it a dirty hit. But Aho certainly tried to get in the way here and it's interference no matter how much you want to defend it. Fox tries to cut the other way around him and his leg is extended. Ok - that's on him. The interference part is on Aho.

Don't think that was intentional. Especially since it's Aho, why would he risk his knee.

Interference penalty sure

Former Ranger, Mike Rupp has an opinion. Shocking that he's finding fault with the Rangers opponent in this video. Truly shocking, really

Minor interference happens how many times a night across all games? Plus I’d say it’s quite borderline that it was even worthy of a 2min minor. Aho has a right to space on the ice too

Svechnikov was the first forward back on that Rangers' forecheck. Aho took wing responsibilities.

Not sure how to create gifs from ESPN+. I'll just use a couple of screenshots. This sequence exemplifies Carolina's structure. Orlov (closest to the boards) took Panarin at the line, leaving Svechnikov to follow Lafreniere down low. Orlov continues to follow Panarin as he moves to the left point. Lindgren eventually goes towards the net and Jarvis takes responsibility. At one point, Carolina has two wingers and a defenseman down low, with a center and a defenseman up high. No switches.

I mean he makes a reasonable argument… whether he’s right or wrong no one here can verify, but he uses his experience and knowledge to justify his opinion. You would be better off picking off his argument rather than arguing his opinion doesn’t matter because bias. Unless you aren’t self-aware…

Its not worth entertaining the thought that in any way shape or form that Aho was at fault for this hit. Fox is the only reason this went knee on knee. Fox knew what he was doing, tried to stick out his leg to clip Aho and it backfired. He did a stupid and it hurt himself.
