Aho collides with Adam Fox; Fox leaves game with injury (Fox placed on LTIR)

I’m surprised (actually not really it’s the mainboards) that no one is pointing out that Aho is defending Fox as if he has the puck…?

Challenging him at the point, getting in his lane and then no effort to avoid contact. You don’t normally see that.

If anything it’s interference, not kneeing. Still kind of a scummy play, y’all would be pissed if your franchise player got injured on such a play.

Carolina plays man-to-man. He’s defending Fox like that because that’s his guy to cover. Fox initiated the contact, possibly trying to draw that interference call, and unfortunately got injured in the process. Why do you believe it’s Aho’s responsibility to avoid contact that Fox initiated?

Why should he answer the bell when he didn't do anything wrong?

when has anyone ever intentionally tried to injure a player? he caught a guy knee on knee. if someone asks to dance about it, you own it, throw some hands, and move on.

If Aho does anything weird there like, say, veer to the right at the same time Fox does what he did then it just becomes potential head contact instead. He went rigid and essentially gave up, Fox just didn't clear what he was trying to do.

LOL, no. A incidental collision isn't "catching a guy knee on knee". The picture above is pretty clear that Aho didn't do anything wrong and didn't stick his leg out. Why risk injury or sit in the penalty box for a meaningless "answering of the bell" because of it?

Because otherwise you have opposing players/fans calling you a bitch, which is definitely more important.

tell yourself whatever you want to tell yourself. he wanted to get a piece of fox and got him with his knee, didn't mean to, but that's what he did. fox is obviously a pretty important player for the rangers, any team is gonna be understandably pretty pissed off about that scenario playing out with their best player being injured. if someone asks the guy involved to go, most have the balls to understand the situation and oblige. it's not like he was doing anything anyway...not sure the canes woulda noticed if he sat in the box for 5 mins...and if he's scared of getting hurt he shouldn't be out there in the first place.

nope, sorry bud, not even.

What the hell was Aho thinking there? Definitely looked like he tried to interfere. The puck was a mile away.

It's more often than not that players injury themselwhile trying to avoid contact. Often times they put themselves on bad situation.

For this istance if Fox just stayed they and they collide head on, both propably just fell on to their butts. But now he tries to dodge and put his own knee on bad angle.

There's no tactical reason why Aho would want to go past Fox while the play is behind the Carolina net. Fox had him beat. Aho panicked and interfered.

Aho isn't even moving, he is staying on place while Fox hits him and continues a good 10 feets even after their hit.

Is Aho interfering? NO! To me it looks like it's just Fox driving into him in akward position while concentrating on trying to reach open for pass. Is Aho supposed to jump out of the way if he sees him coming? NO.

Finnish fans playing mental gymnastics lol. He is moving towards him and def trying to bump him but there isn’t any purpose of him trying to hurt Fox.
