Can’t say I’m a fan of scratching LDBB. I know there’s a glut of players there and he’ll probably slot in when Voronkov eventually finds his way up here, but still,

Well, ended Hershey 5 - Cleveland 2. Seemed to me pretty even, using the AHL free TV weekend (cool idea). The Hershey goalie played great. I thought Cajan also played well for the Monsters, he made a couple of nice saves including at least one breakaway. Felt like the Monsters had chances but couldn't score. I expected more out of Voronkov. McKown had a nice dangle towards the end.

Monsters getting smoked tonight so far. Getting shots, can't beat the goalie. Greaves yanked after giving up 4 on 17 shots. 3 of the 4 he probably should have stopped. Down 4-0 a little more than halfway through.

Just read AP's Sunday Gathering article. I didn't realize Cleveland's roster was so over-crowded that the Monsters are basically healthy scratching five forwards and three defensemen every game. That's rough!

Luca Del Bel Belluz and Knazko have not gotten a single game yet. If this goes on much longer I hope Jarmo would try to loan these kids out to other AHL clubs so they can actually play.

Finally. Chinakhov hasn’t played a game for CBJ since December 2022. Hopefully he is back before he misses an entire year

Ahcan, Gaudet, and Bjorgvik-Holm to Cincinnati alongside Chinakhov's assignment to Cleveland.

This certainly seems overdue. Gaudet and Achan aren’t really NHL prospects so space needs cleared for guys who are considered prospects.

Today's getaway day practice lines

Gaunce/Pyythia/Chinakhov

Del Bel Belluz/Angle/O. Sillinger
Malatesta/Pearson/Butler

Svozil/Blankenburg

Sweezey/Bjork
Knazko/Ceulemans

Greaves
Cajan

Two notes:

- It looks like DBB's pro debut will come tomorrow night in Grand Rapids.

- Malatesta was on the 5th/extras line due to recovering from the injury that kept him out of Saturday's game, not based on performance. He's in that intermediate state where he;s healthy enough to practice fully, but would still be listed as an injury scratch rather than a healthy one.

As I said, it was a getaway day skate (which I normally don't even attend), so there's not much news outside of the lines, but those are pretty big news following yesterday's moves.

Svozil took a pretty hard hit early in the Monsters game. Left under his own power I guess, Griffins production is all over the place and all you could see was his head go by. Hard to tell if he was hit in the head, but I wouldn't be surprised if he has a concussion.

Monsters give up 2 late as game is tied with 30 seconds left. Grand Rapids fans throw pucks on the ice and get a delay of game penalty. On to overtime. Such a shame as Greaves played great tonight. Late penalty let them back in the game.

Gaunce wins it in OT. Meyer with 2 goals. Robinson had an assist and 2 breakaways which he missed on. Greaves had 33 saves on 35 shots. Svozil never came back. The hit on him was pretty bad, but no penalty was called.

Edit: got to hand it to the Griffin fans for getting a penalty to give the Monsters the PP in overtime. Never seen that happen before.
