Yikes! Bad time to have a dud of a game, but three games in under 48 hours can do that to you.

Another ill timed penalty, this time by Sillinger and punished for it. Sounds like a common theme this year

Monsteds get a PP and then ruin it with Cole Sillinger getting a bad slashing penalty. Rochester then scores when they get their PP. Down 4-2.

Monsters just can't stay out of the box at crucial times. Give up PP goal with 7:45 left. 2-2.

Edit: Monsters win in OT. Move back into a playoff spot. Cole Clayton with the game winner. Jiricek and Owen Sillinger with the assists.

Wait back into a playoff spot? I thought it was the first four in the division, i.e. Rochester with 70p would now be in that last spot? But it's the last five?

That would certainly be much nicer than having to close that 5 point gap to Rochester...

4th and 5th place have a play-in round of 3 games, I believe, to determine who gets the 4th spot. I think it is stupid, but there it is. It would suck to be 10 points up on 5th place, only to lose a 3 game play-in. Must need that extra revenue.

Even major leagues like the NBA have it now. Really working to devalue the longest part of the season

So Utica-Rochester and Syracuse-Belleville were 3 point games and Laval won theirs and are now in #5. Cleveland with 2 games in hand though so the fifth is there for the taking if they play well, but getting to #3 is pretty much impossible now. But okay any playoffs is good so let's go for the #5 and advance.

Cleveland loses again, 3-0 against Hershey. It's getting tight to get to that #5 spot now, it was looking pretty okay a few days ago but two losses in a row has turned it upside down again, Laval is 3 points ahead with two games more played.

Still for the taking but gotta start winning and hope Laval (and maybe even Belleville) drop a few.

Monsters score with 1.8 seconds left in OT, but it is waved off because the goalies mask came off on the shot and the goal went in off the rebound. Game going to shootout. Monsters need the second point. Score is 0-0.

Cole Sillinger has 3 assists in 7GP for CLE. How has he looked? Stats look “meh”
His offensive stats do seem a bit worrying. Chinny goes down and puts up numbers...Silly not so much :(

I don't think now is the right time to be worried about how does he look in AHL and the numbers he has and will put up. We've seen him in the NHL for almost 2 seasons, we should have a pretty good idea of what kind of production should be expected of him, given underwhelming NHL stats and that one obvious shortcoming in his game.

Let him have a full summer of skating training (hopefully with a personal coach like Dumais has done) and then in the preseason we can start raising more questions again if we can't perceive any progress... or that's what I'm going to do at least.
