Enjoy Eyssimont, it was always frustrating that he couldn't muster up some better numbers, he is a ton of fun to watch and plays hard every shift.
Excited to watch him - I hate to see Bjorkstrand go, but I understand if 2 x1st and 2 are coming back why they would make the trade, gourde was always going to go. Guess I have to root for and watch Tampa! The pics will help us in the future too either as trade pieces or to help us reset the roster as this iteration of the Kraken has played itself out.

Just please let it not be in the first round

You're obviously confused about Bjorkstrand.

He's never had to rehab his value, he's consistently been an excellent player - a guy who scores on any line (which makes him more valuable) and makes any line better. One of the best forecheckers in the league actually. He and Gourde together are going to be territorially dominant as a third line, if Tampa uses them that way.

He was traded from Columbus in the peak of the league's cap crunch, after teams were fully spent, in a panic move to clear salary after the Jackets unexpectedly landed Gaudreau. It was an incredible steal, and many people pointed it out at the time.
Yeah no point in engaging with that poster. He has some weird agenda and obviously has only ever looked at a Seattle Scoresheet and never watched him play.

Finally some trade action!

That's a steep price. And I don't think Gourde will make as big a impact as he used to with Tampa. But Bjorkstrand could end up the bigger piece when all is said and done.

A win for both teams.

Pay attention, Eastern teams. Time to load up!

Love Gourde, Don't know much about Bjorkstrand. Will miss Ace he was turning Into quite a good player.

So we are getting Gourde for free salary wise?

Teams can only retain 50% of the salary they have on file, and a player can be retained on twice, so the maximum retention is 75%. If a player makes $4M, and their team trades them to another team at 50% retained, Team A retains $2M, and Team B now has a $2M player. Team B trading that player at 50% retained is retaining $1M of the $2M salary, so Team A now has $2M on the books, Team B has $1M, and Team C has the player and a $1M salary.

Ah that makes sense
