Game goes to shootout. GR goalie gets hurt and helped off the ice with 22 seconds left. Greaves 36 saves on 38 shots. Hate it has to come down to a shootout. TFW scores on his first chance. Chinakov can win it. And does. 3-2 Monsters. Greaves played his ass off.

Good night for Monsters. They get two, Amerks and Rockets get nothing and Lehigh Valley comes back in last minute of regulation to force OT so Sens only get one.

Monsters have a couple games in hand on Laval, 3 on Bellville, and both those teams will play again before Cleveland plays on Thursday, Grand Rapids again, for the 3rd time in a row. Wierd schedule. Bellville on Sat. and Sun. Unfortunately will miss the weekend to see the CBJ in Vegas. The Monsters can gain some ground if they can pull those 3 out.

Chinakov just limped off the ice at the end of the second, not putting weight on his foot. Hopefully just a stinger. He does have an assist tonight. TFW also. Dunne with 2 goals. 2-2 end of 2. Ceulemens has looked ok. You can see he needs to get a little up to speed. Might be a little bit of nerves, but mostly just trying to figure out how they run their defense.

Edit: Chinakov came out and tried to skate and then went back to the locker room. Not a good sign.

Monsters tie it late. Now in the box. Short handed pretty much the rest of the game. TFW with 2 assists. 64 points in 50 games this season. Nice year for him.

Edit: TFW now tied for 2nd all time for points in Monsters history.

Lose in OT. Get a point closer. 2 out of a playoff spot. Pretty much all games are must win. Losing Chinakov sucked.

What's worse is that if it really is the same ankle, that's not a good sign for the long term future either. A) Did they send him in prematurely and it wasn't properly healed, B) (I'm not an expert but my understanding is that) ankle stuff tends to never heal back to 100% and it becomes a lingering issue that just gets worse and worse over the years.

Not necessarily true, kind of depends on the injury like most things. I used to have ankle troubles all the time and honestly a bit of strength and mobility training fixed it and its been a non issue for years. A good offseason training can hopefully fix his issues with a change in training philosophy

I don't think they rushed Chinakov back. I'm no expert, but he looked like he was skating fine. I didn't notice him favoring his ankle by letting up so he could be easier on it. He was noticeably faster than most of the guys when he was on the ice. I also don't think they would hesitate to sit him if they felt he needed it. Recently their games have been spread out so he hasn't been pushed too much. He also sat out the outdoor game because they didn't trust the ice. Same with Tarasov. It was just one of those things. I missed what happened as it was right in front of me, I must have been looking somewhere else. I just remember the horn going off, and then him trying to get off the ice and not being able to put much weight on it.

Edit: Ok, I just went on AHLTV and watched it. Hard to really tell what happened because the boards were in the way. He had the puck at the blue line, tried getting it in past the defender, was pushed up against the boards as he went past, then was tripped up. Can't tell if he was tripped by the player or if he caught an edge and just went down. Either way he wasn't happy leaving the is, although it looked like he was putting more weight on it going down the hall. i still think they may hold him out as a precaution this weekend.

A 5-3 win for the Monsters and another point for Jiricek. But I do see he had 3 minor penalties today

good response after losing the previous night. need to go on a run here.

Don't think they get in but I guess we will see.

I'd love for us to send down Sillinger and call up one of their extra guys they dont use or need to play his spot (So not TFW, Dunne, Meyer, etc).

What’s the word on Chinakhov? Day to day ?
I cant find anything but I guess thats kind of normal for ankle injuries. Theyll probably list him as day to day for now but in reality its probably more week to week

Day-to-Day per Tony Brown's retweets of the Monsters line tweets (He goes into more detail about injuries/healthy scratches in those).
