How has Luoto looked? Seems like a guy not scared to be around the net
I think he looks fine. He has been better lately, he started a little slow. He gets himself in good position offensively. He's a bigger guy so he isn't afraid to get in areas close to the net. Honestly haven't paid too much attention to his defense.

Probably not, and also I sure hope not.

We weren't even sure if he was ready to play in the AHL. He seems to be good in the AHL, but it's too early to talk NHL call up for him.
I don't agree. Since neither Christiansen nor Bayreuther (although I still understand him) will be HS, the 7th d-man could be even a table. That's why I'd send Berni back to AHL, call up Kňažko. Then send Knažko to AHL and call up Bjogvik Holm. 😎

Monsters a little better so far tonight. Up 2-1. TFW and Dunne with PP goals. Hersheys goal a deflection that Tarasov had no chance on. Bemstrom, Jiricek, and Knazko all with assists. Knazko has 8 PP assists. Hershey tied it as I typed this wit 24 seconds left in the first.

Uneventful 2nd period. Still tied at 2. This weekend was the bus trip for both games at Hershey. Went a few years back and really enjoyed the experience even though the Monsters lost. Couldn't make this trip this time. Highly recommend if anyone gets a chance to catch a game at Hershey to do so. Nice arena, and great fans that support their team. Plus, you can't go to Hershey without going to Hershey Park and getting some chocolate.

Its bothers me maybe a bit more than it should that leagues like the AHL and CHL dont share TOI. But mostly the AHL, its a pro league and they can post ice time?

It's kept a trade secret along with a lot of other AHL stats. IMO, this is so that GMs can make minor trades without being critiqued by fans/media (i,e. give them no choice but to say "I don't have enough info to understand this trade so we just have to trust the GM on this one").

Monsters lose 3-2. Played well overall, just came up short. Back at it tomorrow.

How has David Jiricek looked lately?

This article was from a couple years ago. They were at least thinking about it then. Doesn't look like they are any closer to doing it though.

Monsters currently getting clobbered 4-0, 3 minutes left in 1st. Cajon in net, so its not Tarasov.

How has David Jiricek looked lately?
He's been good. He is the dman on PP1, and they have the top PP in the league, so that's a positive. The second unit has been good also, Knazko is the dman on that. Jiricek though has been solid, no real glaring mistakes being made. Its more team defense that is leading to the amount of goals being given up. Probably an extension of the system Columbus is using, as both teams are at or near the top of goals against.

Brett Gallant just scored on a nice cross zone pass from Knazko. Gallant an assist away from a Gordie Howe hat trick.

And another dumb penalty with a little over 2 minutes left in OT. The lack of discipline amazes me as they seem to get penalties at the worst possible times.
