My single favorite thing about him is that enthusiasm. I think that sort of thing matters and it will take him far. Every player expresses it differently but his is so front-and-center and he clearly has tons of it.

Jiricek is probably the only one with a strong chance to become a legit top pair D. Mateychuk could develop enough to considered that quality but he wont leap frog Werenski. Ceulemans has top 4 upside with offensive upside.
Then there is a long list of guys who have NHL potential but far from certain if they reach it. Svozil, Richard lead the next group for me but Knazko is playing better than I expected aswell.

Two quick Laval goals and back on the PK for thr Monsters 3-3. I know a lot of people like having high scoring games, but having a decent offence and weak defense blows. Its not exciting watching a team build a lead only to blow it.

Monsters lose in shootout 5-4. Had 4 chances to win it in the shootout, but couldn't get it done. Gave up 52 shots during the game and OT. That isn't going to win you many games. The defense is lacking.

He's been ok. He had a couple misplays and bad clear today, but it didn't lead to anything. He was no better or worse than the others. Greaves was their best defender today. He bailed them out a lot, and deserved to win. No help in the shootout.

You could say that, but it isn't like they are worse losing the guys to Columbus. The D wasn't any better when they were here. I pretty much count Greaves as their starter as Tarasov really hasn't been here this year. Korpisalo only has one less start here than Tarasov.

That’s true but I’ll say this without having watched the Monsters. Often when you’re giving up 50+ shots it’s not just a D problem; it’s the inability of the forwards to sustain offensive zone time and forecheck effectively.
