and he's a NYR fan. It's like what all of us imagined playing hockey as kids.

hoping for that 8x6 in the offseason. He's getting paid one way or another

He’s going to a ranger for 3 more years. By then he will either be traded outright or traded with the rangers retaining maybe 1.5 to 2 mill on the final 3 years of his deal. They would much better be served doing that because they save more cap then an outright buy out. Trouba will be a top 4 D for the entirety of his contract. He’s going to be much easier to move then people think. Just because we are spoiled with defensive prospect riches doesn’t mean there aren’t many teams looking for a big tough right handed D man capable of putting up 30-40 pts and eating tough minutes. Everyone needs to relax with this. Like the trouba deal is going to submarine the team. The only way it impacts the rangers negatively is that there are going to have to make a choice between lundkvist and Schneider. Neither guy is going to sit and wait 3 years for trouba to be traded. One of these guys will be dealt for an upgrade at center as sure as I’m sitting here. My money is on lundkvist because Schneider seems like the total package while lundkvist may put up better offensive numbers. Both are sound defensemen. Schneider is bigger and younger he also plays a more abrasive game. Imo lundkvist is the guy Gorton moves. Both guys are not bottom pair D

His NMC is modified starting 2024-2025, when he has a 15 team no trade list (12 teams in 2025-26)

Honestly, they may even play on the PP together. Fox and TDA did that for like a game or two and the PP looked good right before TDA got kicked off the team.

I think having two offensive defensemen on a PP1 is kind of a cool look.

Providing that Lundkvist is indeed here and has made the team, that is exactly what I envision. They are two different players. Nils will not move the puck like Adam does and the latter will certainly set up the former's shot.

Not sure how that will work. Panarin is already in the left side trigger position where Lundkvist would be. More likely to see Lundkvist be left side trigger guy on PP2 or he might QB that PP2 since it clearly is lacking someone that can do that right now. But I actually would like to see Laf be the PP2 QB next year, feeding passes to Lundkvist.

I just want the 2nd unit to play more than 20 seconds at a time.
