Fox is also elite defensively which is the craziest crazy part.
There’s no *objective* reason he shouldn’t be the front runner for the Norris trophy.
5 goals and 35 points in 37 games.
Not only are we now at the point where he’s scoring at an 11 goal/78 point pace per 82 games, he’s also scored around 70 points over his last 82 games going back to last season.
And he’s only 23.
And this is only his second season.
Let that sink in for a minute.
also he’s 23 and will be 24 when his ELC expires. If we can extend him for the full 8 years, his contract will end right at the end of his prime. That would be absolutely ideal.Yeah; you need to give this kid a very long contract with the cap space you have this off-season.
Because in a few years when the cap rises that contract is going to look like a steal. No bridge deals for this guy.
there’s a reason they’re called the canuckleheads.Saw a tweet tonight that back in 2016 the Canucks needed a PP defenseman and with their 3rd round pick, instead of Fox, they took this other American defensman in the USDP that scored like half as many points as Fox during their D+0 season.
Such a Canucks thing to do. f***in’ dum-dums.

Just think, they could have had a pair of seconds instead.Saw a tweet tonight that back in 2016 the Canucks needed a PP defenseman and with their 3rd round pick, instead of Fox, they took this other American defensman in the USDP that scored like half as many points as Fox during their D+0 season.

The only person I’ve seen that actually thought Fox would be this good is a Devils fan strangely enough. Dude is like obsessed with Fox.
We call that first place around here, pal.I believe he's currently tied for the lead in points among defensemen with two games in hand on Hedman.
A few games ago I said his hockey sense is the closest I’ve ever seen to Gretzky’s. It’s not at that level of course, but it isn’t far off. Fox just gets hockey and all the little nuances. I think he also sees the ice better while playing than I do on my TV.I'm not old enough to have watched him in his prime, and this is stylistic only, and I know it's heretical but watching Fox I can't help but think Gretzky. He doesn't have any overwhelming hockey traits besides being really good at hockey, if that makes sense.
Jesus Christ this really hits home just how spectacular he is.Imagine him winning the Norris this season...on his ELC.
And then imagine that he could win a second Norris the following season...while still on his ELC.

I don’t think he’ll drop off much after it either. All signs point to him having the longevity of Gretzky and Jagr, though probably not quite as long.also he’s 23 and will be 24 when his ELC expires. How do you know it’s wrong then? What's iXg and why is it so wrong?
How do you know it’s wrong then?
It’s individual expected goals. So it’s off by literally half a goal lol.
I think it's 36 points in 37 games.
