He’s looking a little slow the past couple of games. I wonder if he picked up an injury recently. He’s still the best player in the ice but he’s noticeably laboring a bit to me.

Hedman is a given. I’d be upset if Barrie or Carlson were picked ahead of Fox. Hamilton or Theodore do have longer NHL history and I understand it could be the deciding factor if everything else viewed equally. So I’d love Fox to be the finalist, I think it would be definitely earned but depending on who makes it I’d also understand if Fox is passed by the thinnest of margins.

Erik Karlsson and Cale Makar are the only active defenseman with a better career PPG.

We’re lucky in a way. We have two hockey players that have unreal Hockey IQ in Fox and Panarin. They are both players that make other players around them better players.

Saw a tweet tonight that back in 2016 the Canucks needed a PP defenseman and with their 3rd round pick, instead of Fox, they took this other American defensman in the USDP that scored like half as many points as Fox during their D+0 season.

Fox is one of the best offensive defensemen in the NHL. He is also one of the best defensive defensemen in the NHL. He’s flat out one of the best and most complete players in the NHL.
