I thought the pp was good tonight. Ofc you have to score but they had good entries and control and several high grade chances
I caught part of the game on the radio, and the post game show was saying the Jets pretty much got the better of the play, but just couldn't bury their scoring chances. It's good to know the Jets can play with the best of teams in the NHL, but their whole game needs to come together. We'll see what kind of character this team has in the next 4 critical games.

If the Jets lose the majority of those games, they don't deserve a playoff spot.

The walls aren't closing in; Calgary's not the threat. Nashville is, and they cacked at home against a soupcan that famously dumped their only two stars at the TDL. We remain a favorite to make the playoffs, and a healthy one.

Still, it's nice to see the "lol Quick has rejuvenated his career thanks to this sample size of 4 games!" horseshit narrative come to a messy and permanent stop.

They’re only three points back of us now. A few weeks ago I could agree that maybe these teams shouldn’t be thought of as threats, but we’ve spotted them so many points these past few months that we’re now in tough.

To be clear, I’m not counting us out, but I’m also not counting out the Flames nor the Preds.

Oh for sure. Neither team is mathematically eliminated. The thing is with Calgary, in addition to being only 3 points behind, they're also terrible :P and of course, when it comes to uncertain future probabilities, there's a wide open room for all of us fans to belly-up to the soap box and bicker. I can only speak for the percentages; if given a chance to bet on the Jets making the playoffs at even-money odds, I'd divert every discretionary dollar and ask the wife to float me an advance off my (err, 'our' :P) next invoice to boot.

Well we have 13 games left and it’s ours for the taking. The sample size is all getting small enough now though it would help for us to play reasonabley well over this set of games. Saturday feels big.

I don’t love how we have been playing in 2023 but I don’t believe in Nashville or Calgary.

At a minimum we need to suck less over the last 13.

No puck luck that's for sure but come on Connor, we need you scoring more than 1 goal every 15 games. And i'm sorry but there is no way Wheeler should be our top minute guy on our PP. Wheeler is absolutely no threat to score.

Saturday is a must win. No moral victories or positive spins. We need a clean two points.

It’s a big 4 point game but it’s not a “must win”. That term gets used too much honestly. 13 games to go… one of them isn’t a make or break.

Even if we manage to sneak into the playoffs, does anyone actually have any faith that we can go on a run?? I mean youve got the coach still line blendering and benching guys 60+ games in. He's coming out and saying things like "were nowhere close to playing how we want to/should be playing". Really?? Sure sounds like the team has tuned him out. Not stuff you want to be hearing from your coach at this point of the season

Maybe rest him after we lock things up with a couple games to go.
Yes that would be when you could rest him but he starts every game until that happens.

Last Week Tampa benched their top line and they have won 2 out of the last 3 cups. Several coaches around the league have been critical of their teams play. And why be so focused on what May happen in the playoffs and just enjoy 13 games of meaningful hockey in late March and early April and see what happens? When we get there you can then tell everyone we have no chance.

The 100th Meridian
the next 4 games for the wild card race:
wpg: preds blues yotes ducks
flames: stars kings ducks knights
preds: jets rangers sabres kraken

we have a chance to regain our separation and this stretch could determine the final spot

Thanks for this.

At the end of the day I don't think it really matters whether we make the playoffs or not. This team since Christmas is one of the worst teams in the whole league. You can talk all you want about out playing teams and claiming moral victories but at the end of the day only results matter.
It seems every night it's something that does us in. Weak power play. Goalied. Can't get the right bounce. Costly giveaway in our own end. This list goes on and on.
We are going out in the first round regardless of our opponent. We are a team that just always finds ways to lose.
I love Connor and Scheifele but they can't play defence and never will. And when they aren't producing they are just a massive liability on the ice.
