This team is a carbon copy of Bones's stars last year. Play pretty well but have next to zero finish. Yet another game where they play well enough to get a result but walk away with nothing. That is becoming the norm lately.

Every miscue also seems to end up in our net as well. That makes things even more tough as there is zero margin for errors these days and hockey is a game of mistakes.

I'm not sure what to say, you'd expect that if they keep this up the goals and wins will come but they have been a bottom team in terms of conversion since Xmas.

This will be a very clench filled final stretch.

Okay Preds lost. One game less on the schedule and they lost to a far easier opponent. Saturday’s game is huge.

It's a must win game.

I present you with a slightly Tipsy Don Cherry talking about the game

Well folks, I gotta tell ya, it's been a tough night, and this game just topped it off. The Jets, what can I say? They were strugglin' against those Bruins, and it's a real heartbreaker. With Swayman in the net, the Bruins seemed unstoppable, and boy, the Jets just couldn't catch a break, hittin' the post 3 times! It's like the hockey gods were playin' a cruel joke on 'em. The Bruins' defense, they were like a wall, and the Jets... well, they just couldn't find a way through. I dunno, maybe I've had one too many tonight, but it's lookin' grim for our Jets. I wanna believe they'll bounce back, but tonight, it's just hard to see the light, ya know?

It's interesting how it works out. Bowness' team in Dallas was a one-line team, with the bottom nine playing to not make a mistake. The Jets aren't good enough to come back when down, and they aren't good enough to protect the lead. Meanwhile, I'm looking over at the Bruins bench, being all misty eyed because that head coach was the one I wanted for the Jets.

While disappointed in the Jets tonight I'm not angry. Jets lost 2 straight to the 2 best teams in hockey this year, games in which they played good enough to win. Maybe they need to get badly outshot again for the next W. The good news is the Jets are pretty much done with the East. Next 6 against the West, and 11 of the last 13. That will be the true test in how they match up.

Defensive breakdowns weren't common but the Bruins were opportunistic on the chances they got.

I was a little disappointed that Bones didn't try to break up his lines for scoring. I think maybe one shift he moved Wheeler onto Scheif's line, but nothing to really change the mode of attack. Not saying it would have made a difference, but when it's not going maybe try tweaking a player or two.

The penalty kill against a talented Bruins PP was pretty good. The PP got a couple of good looks, but they just didn't get enough quality shots through.

Thank you Chicago for keeping us in a spot where a victory Saturday goes a long way to keeping separation on Nashville.

Sure was a lot of Bruins fans in the house, one of the quietest True North chants I have heard.

I agree with this. We needed to shore up our defense and we have done that but our offense has seemingly fallen off a cliff to get it. Much like with his Stars last year.

I also wanted Montgomery more than Bones. I think he was the real genius behind the Stars cup finals fun a couple years back. I liked reading about what his philosophies where and he's clearly having a pretty big impact with an older team in Boston.
