Things I learn on here from @NeelyDan's awesome questions, I never want to be on fire or have frostbite. Some of the pain people have gone through makes me very anxious, yes child birth hurts but you get a baby at the end and you forget...otherwise no one would ever have another.

My heart goes out to all of you who suffer and have suffered so badly.

I love the high morals here too, we watch too much tv etc that makes it look like everyone jumps into bed on the first date.

I will say, as a millennial, the hook up culture is  very prevalent, however I think people my age (33) are starting to realize that realistically, how long can that be sustained. What are your life goals? Are you just going to sleep around forever? Now if that's what some want, that's okay by me. What people do with their bodies is none of my business. But I think people do have morals and are realizing it now more than ever.

Whenever I've felt pressured to do anything, the word no has been used and full stop it's been stopped. I think we as a society are learning that too. Live and learn. But there's no reason not to have some values and standards!

:)

I’m normally part of the general consensus here, but I’d be careful about equating morality with sex
“Careful?” How so?

They are certainly entitled to their opinion. And since they are not talking about anyone in particular other than themselves, I don’t see how that should matter to anyone here.

By and large, most of us here are pretty friendly with each other and our love of Bruins hockey is our common bond. We come from different places, upbringings, belief systems, and whatnot. These little “get to know yous” that you do are a lot of fun. I will, however, say this - what shocks me most isn’t how different we all are, but rather how similar. Yes, we have some varying opinions on certain things, but I for one, am fascinated by my ursine siblings here. I would never begrudge anyone their opinion on anything. It’s what makes this place as fun as it is.

That’s MY opinion.

I dont know if this was directed towards me, however, I definitely don't equate morality with sex, but I would be remiss if that's not how some people do equate it.

Having morals in general or having standards, that's just in life, not sex.

Well at least for me. That goes for friendships, acquaintances, etc. Just know your worth and live your life the way you see fit. :)

Not directed towards anyone, just a general comment

Side note: played what is probably my final men’s league game last night, tho I didn’t know that going in.

Fitting that I ended with a gordie Howe tho - set up the first, scored the second, and then fought a guy who clubbed our goalie

However, ruptured the tendon in my ring finger in the process, and now have a splint for six weeks and a visit with a plastic surgeon to boot

And with that, I move into oldtimers where there are no fights. I am glad, lol.

I say this out of love to someone I like and genuinely respect…

We’re both roughly the same age so I feel very comfortable saying this. Aren’t we getting a little old to drop the mitts? I wish you a very speedy recovery.

NeelyDan's Friday Five:

1. Describe your ideal weather
2. In honour of ol' spring-loaded shovel @Mione134 , what is the most painful thing you've ever experienced? Physically painful, that is.
3. Where was the greenest place you've ever set foot?
4. Which of your own physical features do you find most attractive?
5. How long should one wait after starting a new relationship to get it on with the other person?

Edit: Optional bonus question to start 2024: share a photo of yourself, today, smiling for the camera. Let's get a little cozier up in hurr. No pressure, you shy types.
1 Fall day. Cool and clear

2. Before I had my gallbladder out....serious pain.

3. Scotland highlands

4. Not much anymore. I used to have nice thick shinny hair...and it was thick.

5. I think it depends on who you are and what you are looking for.

I don't like photos of me but here is one from a very long time ago

Many years ago, we would rent a cottage on Lake Ossipee. Every day at sunset Amanda and I would go out in the canoe for a paddle. I took her picture, and she took mine. We always loved our time there and smiles were real.

Maybe my favourite photo ever on these forums

Can someone explain this craziness to me like I’m a 5 year old. I don’t get it.

Stanley's are a good solid cup/mug/tumbler. They hold your hot drinks hot, and your cold drinks cold. They can last for days.

However, this "Limited Edition Starbucks cup" model is just a limited edition thing. It has the Starbucks logo on it. Same f***ing tumbler that people already have. But everyone wants to be exclusive and have things that other people want, and thus we get this craziness.

People are trying to sell it online too. Poshmark, Mercari, Ebay. $250, $280 and above.

It's insanity. It really is.

1. I like fall weather, clear, mid-fifties with a little breeze. Early summer is nice too and the breeze is a little warmer. Edit: maybe low 60s is better, but I like it a little cool.
2. I had my left achilles cut when I was nine or ten. I have never forgotten it.
3. Hmm, I have not traveled much. Stanley Park in Vancouver was very nice.
4. I have nice hazel eyes, if I do say so myself.
5. As long as possible.
Bonus: Not going to do it... More than a couple of you already found me on fb. That's fine, but that's enough. Besides, unfortunately, I am vain and insecure. :D

1. Describe your ideal weather

Dead calm, first t-shirt warmth of the season, setting sun.

2. In honour of ol' spring-loaded shovel @Mione134 , what is the most painful thing you've ever experienced? Physically painful, that is.

Probably the tattoo on my elbow, it got so swollen that it sorta folded over on itself. Was awful.

3. Where was the greenest place you've ever set foot?

Big Porcupine Lake, Algonquin Park. Was super peaceful until I rounded a corner in the canoe and came face to face with an angry momma moose.

4. Which of your own physical features do you find most attractive?

My shoulders.

5. How long should one wait after starting a new relationship to get it on with the other person?

Theres something to be said about physical chemistry being figured out sooner than later. Like many have said, no real rule here - whatever everyone’s comfortable with. I will say that the younger generation are much more liberal about sex than we tend to be. I wouldn’t specifically wait, nor would I be specifically eager.

My beard is starting to come in nicely, the plan is to go full curly stache like Bill the Butcher a la Gangs of New York.
