I went grocery shopping yesterday for the first time in 6 weeks. My sister came with me in case I had any trouble. I didn't but today is another story. I wasn't there a half hour but my new hip is quite sore and my bad hip has me screaming for mercy. I did the ice pack thing & flexerall plus extra strength tylenol. I'm feeling really frustrated right now. Sister says I need to be more patient, that I'm doing very well for someone just 6 weeks after major surgery.

Concrete floors are an absolute bitch.
Make sure you have a really good pair of walking shoes....I recommend Brooks Addiction (think that's the name). I am calorically challenged and they make walking great.

I pamper myself on shoes...walking, hiking etc. Like Lt. Dan said in Forrest Gump....take care of your feet.

I too never skimp on shoes. With a bad back & now hip issues there's no way I will ever wear cheap footwear again. :yo:

It's a saying from Battlestar Galactica lol

But it's also in the Bible, which is why it was used in the show...the newer one that aired on syfy.

Ecclesiastes 1:9. "What has happened before will happen again. What has been done before will be done again.".

Spoilers for the tv show if you never watched.

"Gaius Baltar survived in the end and can be seen thousands of years later walking a city street on New Earth (our Earth) with the Cylon 7 in the final episode. But he's not a Cylon…so what is the explanation?

All through the series Baltar was accompanied by the being referred to as “Head Six” (not “Head Seven”), who was not actually a Cylon but rather a … messenger/guide … sent by a being we would probably refer to as “God” although he/she/it does not like that name. She only appears to Baltar, choosing to appear as the Model-6 Cylon (Caprica Six) that Baltar had known prior to the Fall of the 12 Colonies.

At the same time, Caprica Six has a messenger/guide who appears to her as Gaius Baltar, also acting as a conscience. Again, only Caprica Six is able to see him. During the 3-part finale of the series, it is revealed that Gaius and Caprica are able to see each other’s “advisor”.

During the epilogue - 150,000 years later - the couple we see reading a National Geographic article over a man’s shoulder were these messengers we have seen throughout the series. This is evident by the fact that the man they are standing immediately behind does not take any note of their presence, despite them speaking in a normal tone of voice only 1 - 2 feet behind him.

Kind of like humans will human, robots will robot, it has happened before, it'll happen again and we cycle on and try to do better.

It's a great tv series..highly suggest you watch. Especially the newer version

I watched the original when it was on in the late seventies. A few episodes anyway. I know that my brother likes the newer version that was on Syfy.

Thank you for the clarification.

The new series kinda lost me a little during season 3 when it started getting very preachy and political. I followed through to the end, but seasons 1 and 2 were phenomenal. Especially the miniseries/pilot.

There are several episodes of the original series that were VERY good as well. No spoilers in either case, but I enjoyed both series.

I agree wholeheartedly.
It definitely fell off. The first 2 seasons were one of the best TV seasons ever.

I hated what they did to my girl Starbuck.

Got an estimate to repair my car after the doofus in the rental truck hit me last month.

$4k. :help:

Forwarded to their insurance company, we'll see what they say.

Anybody have experience with diminished value claims? The guy at the body shop mentioned that might be worth looking into.

Not familiar but $4k isn't bad considering how bad the pictures are.

Fingers crossed his insurance company does the right thing

Most of my job now is designing architectures to enable AI at massive scale and I definitely feel conflicted about it

So, you've got Miles Dyson's disease,

Insurance will cover the repairs and set me up with a rental while it's being fixed :dd:

The problem now is, the shop I'm using is waiting for a machine they need to use to fix it to be repaired after their shop got hit by the tornado last month. So I'm probably still a month out from being able to get it in the shop.

But at least there is progress! I have no way of knowing this, of course, but I think the insurance agent was fed up with the other driver because he didn't return calls in a timely manner. He even told me the other driver had a different story than me. Go figure lol. And yet he immediately approved the claim as soon as I sent in the estimate.
