It's still early in his career I know...
But maybe the Eichel just isn't ready for the NHL yet? With a certain fanbase hounding him, the pressure of being considered the next American superstar, **** I wouldn't be able to handle that ****.
Maybe having him in the minors for another year or two to develop a bit wouldn't have been a bad idea. The kid is only 19. At 19 I was complete ******** who had no idea what I wanted to do.
Not much has changed... but I'd like to think I have a bit of a better head on my shoulders now. I actually feel really bad for Eichel, and I hope Meclennan doesnt ruin him.

Eichel definitely belongs in the NHL. He just isn't a 1C and isn't able to play against tough competition yet. Give him 2nd line minutes and he'll be fine

I am thinking that both US and NA teams get eliminated. I do not see US beating Canada and Sweden will probably shut down NA and keep them to 1 or 2 goals.

I love auston but thought he was losing too many puck battles tonight.

As for the team shot totals I wouldn't take them at face value - RUS obviously sat back after going up 3 goals.

Sat back or bent over with and left a jar of vaseline on the table?

Russia played well for 15/60 minutes, they are fortunate to get that victory, very fortunate.

Someone might want to tell Malkin that the exhibition games ended two games back.

He scored 56 points in his Rookie year.

When he puts up 65 this year I hope you'll remember this post and reflect on it.

Team NA is getting better every game. They had a meltdown in goal tonight, but I wouldn't bet against them right now. Bobrovsky was clutch, huge 3rd period from the Vezina winner to lock down the game for Russia.

I blame the goalie on 1 of the 4. The other ones were fantastic shots by fantastic shooters.

Nah...I'm confident Kidz will beat Crowns...nearly fifty shots on BOB today...and very close to tying it up in dying seconds...THEY GOT HEART and Swedes won't know what hit em!

I think some people are dismissing Russia's victory

Yes Murray imploded in goal, but give those 4 shots to any highly skilled player on NA and I'm certain they fire it high and wide or hit the goalie's helmet, we've seen it all too often

Those were 4 filthy snipes from Kucherov, Tarasenko, Kucherov and Namestnikov. Aside from Namestnikov, you can't ask for better goalscorers

NA was slightly better in the 1st. RUS was much better in the 2nd.

then RUS sat back in the 3rd.

NA had more SOG's in the first 2 periods than Russia had in 3. They were outshot even in the second, but Murray let in 4 goals on 4 shots.

Well, I think Sweden if any team (bar Canada) has the defence that can really stifle these speedsters. Will be an interesting match - especially if us, by some miracle, manage to beat Sweden today...

Russia has better finishers

They have the best finishers in the world. But Team North America has more pure talent. In a way Team North America is more Russian than the Russian team, lol. They play more like the old school Russians.
