Yeah, thats more important maybe. Everyone makes a bad move from time to time, but Perlini didn't kill you; Not firing Blashill early this last season didn't ruin the organizations draft position. Fabbri extension might be on the edge of looking useless but hey... again not a hand-cuffer.

I said it in another thread. He hasn't had his Nielsen/DeKeyser/Franzen/Cleary/Adelkader moment really yet. (Chiarot could be that guy... but time will tell.)

As far as Kasper; Hope he works out. I'd of picked Matthew Savoie but we'll see.

Last time I felt strong about a player was Dylan Cozen; we drafted Seider instead, so that worked out. Hopefully this works out well too with Kasper.

I think you’ll like the way Kasper has been playing this preseason. No points yet but a ton of zip and great at skating the puck while showing some good creativity. There’s a lot of baby Larkin in his game.

Marco Kasper so far in SHL:

Faceoffs 51.7% (47 wins total, 3rd most in team)
8 games, 2+3=5 points, +8 -2 = +6 plusminus. Best plusminus in team with +3 margin.
23 shots on goal, most in team.
76 fenwick for, 2nd highest in team (highest, William Wallinder, 88 FF)
55.9% Fenwick% (Top4 in team, of players with at least 4 games)
16:04 ice-time (7th highest of forwards, only 1min difference to highest, very equal usage in Team)

Kasper at Champions Hockey League

6 games, 3+4=7 points.+4 (Point Leaders Tambellini 3+5=8 and Wallinder 1+7=8)
12 shots on goal
15:13 icetime
52.7% at faceoffs

So in general it has been 14 games, 5+7=12 points.
Faceoffs at ~52% range
Playing almost 16 minutes on average.
Plus guy in both competitions with +10 combined.

Going very very well for so young kid. My god, he's only 18.5 years old.

Somehow I've started to have a feeling, more and more I think of it, how Marco Kasper will be our Center version of Matt Tkachuk.

In-your-face player. Always on the net crease, grinding, battling in the corners for lose pucks. Will score the dirty goals. That's what Matty damn Tkachuk is currently doing.

Just when time goes by, he will be a weapon. Especially of playoff hockey. Not anything finesse shit. For playoff grind, playoff hockey. Pain-in-the-ass for opposite team.

Detroit people will love that.

He won't be the Wings version of Tkachuk. I would trade 5 Kaspers for a Tkachuk. Hell I would trade Larkin 1 for 1 for Tkachuk. If gets to 60 points a year I will be happy. Tkachuk has 2 40 goal/100 point seasons. And in this playoffs he's well over a PPG.

Congrats to Marco for graduating!

Shows a lot about this guys character/ drive t9 accomplish. I think he might turn out better that what people are expecting..my thinking is in a few years in a redraft he might end up ranking higher than 9th. Not a Rasmussen level 9th

He’s already looking like top 5 in a redraft.

Cooley Nemec Jiricek Hutson Korchinski would all be ahead of kasper. Then theres Wright Slafkofsky. Snuggerrud and Mintyukov too.
Kasper falls around 8. Didn’t fall but didn’t really rise either

Hutson and Korchinski? No, no…Korchinski should never have been a top 10 guy. Hutson moves up maybe to 10.

Wright probably drops out of the top 10. Slaf out of the top 5. Snuggerrud into the top 10 but keep in mind who he played with in college.

Cooley, Jiricek, Nemec, Gauthier/Kasper, Kasper/Gauthier, Mintyukov is my top 6.

Graduating high school is a major accomplishment? Or is this something else?

Still not anything to measure someone's character by. Most people graduate high school and it takes very little to do so.
Most people aren't pro athletes with expected earnings of tens of millions of dollars. Seeing schooling through that has zero bearing on your career is a credit. How many college athletes bother getting their degrees if they sign a contract before they finish? Most European HS degrees are on par with NCAA athlete degrees (barring the rare few that have a real field of study).

And Kasper had a very strong season at 18yo in the 2nd best pro league in the world.

Yzerman never did...

Kasper did yes. Not saying he didn’t or he’s a bad prospect. We picked him at 8. He’s around 8 still. Some guys jumped him some fell back. Still a good value pick

agree to disagree then
