Saros would be good. Don't think this will ever happen but prying Swayman out of Boston would be cool as well.
Saros couldn't push a better Nashville club through and Swayman couldn't be the difference for a better Boston club.

Woll is a good young goalie. Our problem is qualitative depth 7-12 and really a complete shift to our D corps.

We need to be very judicious with our capital allocation. If we can acquire without giving up, we need to rinse and repeat until we've stockpiled excess assets again.

Problem with Murray is he can't be counted on, period. I mean most said the Murray trade will be judged by what he does in the playoffs. Well here we are on the brink of another loss and Murray hasn't played a single second.

It would be poetic justice if Leafs ownership/BOD called up Dubas and said " You made your bed and now lie in it" when you claimed Matt Murray past Stanley Cup pedigree was the reason you sold everyone on why you took on that butt ugly contract and injury prone goalie.

Ownership ultimatum: "So you put Matt Murray in net today and you remain Leafs GM as long as the Leafs season remains alive".

Allowing Dubas to play 4th string and rookie goalie Joseph Woll, feels like a cover-up & cop-out to GM accountability and hiding behind his mistakes again. Its almost as if the Leafs now have to win despite their GM incompetence. Dubas' Leafs career now hangs in the balance based on his predecessors ability to draft and provided Dubas with a get out of jail card, and MLSE decisons makers should take that into account.

However since we all want the Leafs to win, we need to rally behind youngster Woll and let the rest of it sort itself out naturally.

What the hell are you talking about?

Oh FFS Mess, what it is this nonsense. Playing Woll is the obvious move and calling this post nonsense is perhaps the most diplomatic phrasing I've used in months.

Also, playing Woll is a coaching decision, do you know who the coach of this team is?

If ownership actually were to give Dubas this ultimatum (which is pure fantasy, makes me wonder how many shrooms you've taken today), then the only appropriate response would be to tell the owners to f*** off and let him and Keefe do their jobs.

Hope they lose and get blown out to make it harder for whoever the gm is here in the off-season to justify continuing on with this core. I think this team is better off doing a complete rebuild/retool, there's no reason to think anything is going to change if things continue the way they are.

Personally, I have more faith in Woll than either Murray (would sooner have Michael Hutchinson in net) or Samsonov (not as consistent as I would like). In his limited number of games, he has looked solid, steady, and calm.

The difference with Murray coming in for Pittsburgh is that he had horses in front of him.
We have ponies.

Mini ponies!!!

Show ponies at that

Our "Core 4" with Keefe as the Unicorn, cuz, ya know, LEGEND.

Swayman was thrown in cold for Game 7 after not playing for like a month. I wouldn't blame him for that.

Why would a Leafs fan ever want their team to lose a playoff series.

C.S. Lewis said it best:

We all want progress. But progress means getting nearer to the place where you want to be. And if you have taken a wrong turning then to go forward does not get you any nearer. If you are on the wrong road progress means doing an about-turn and walking back to the right road and in that case the man who turns back soonest is the most progressive man. There is nothing progressive about being pig-headed and refusing to admit a mistake.

I can see a Leafs fan who is convinced that the Leafs are constructed with a fatal flaw that will prohibit them from winning the Cup might hope that being swept would result in the organization making an about-turn and taking a different road.

I think if Dubas is let go there will also be a mandate to change the core. The only way i see them staying together is if Dubas gets another contract and can somehow convince the hierarchy to try it again. I can't see there being much appeal for that plan from those above Shanahan.

At this point I wouldn't mind giving Simmonds potentially his last playoff game ever. I know he isn't good at all anymore but Zar has been a liability and he would only play like 5-6 mins.

Anyways if leafs play like they did in the third of last game or the first in game 2 they win. Gotta play hard. Marner needs to be significantly better, he was easily the worst leaf last game.

Samsonov has a playoff record of 4 wins and 5 losses [ = .444 winning %] with a 3.13 GAA and .898 sv% with GSAx -1.3.

Those are not the goalie stats that are going to give anyone confidence Leafs have a 4 game wining streak coming to save the season. Florida's goalie Bob is on a 6 game winning heater posting a .921sv%

I have more faith in youngster Joseph Woll to provide that playoff miracle possibility as he has and shows composure and confidence and this moment isn't too big for him.

Lets go Joey !!!

I'm expecting a BIG Leafs win today.

My concern is why didn't the team play better when Woll had to come in? They literally shit the bed on him! Embarrassing, to say the least!

And go-cart Mozart was checkin' out the weather chart to see if it was safe outside
And little Early-Pearly came by in his curly-wurly and asked me if I needed a ride
The calliope crashed to the ground
Oh, some hazard from Harvard was skunked on beer, playin' backyard bombardier
Yes and Scotland Yard was trying hard, they sent some dude with a calling card
He said, "Do what you like, but don't do it here"
Well I jumped up, turned around, spit in the air, fell on the ground
Asked him which was the way back home
He said, Take a right at the light, keep goin' straight until night, and then boys, you're all on your own"

I finally listened to the cronies leaf report . They’ve turned on the core. Does that mean they know Dubas is gone or Dubas is going to break them up?

Oh I agree, I can't imagine not watching, especially if we win. Do they just not watch Friday too then? Feels really soft to call yourself a fan only to say that you won't watch a 2nd round game because you're too frustrated with the team. Oh well.
I can certainly understand their frustration, but I am upset that I have to miss tonight's game as well as the rest of the series.

Whoever schedules baseball games in Ontario needs to be fired!

Can I try answering that question

Mr Larry T is da coach of duh team

Yes, but the cost to get rid of him is too high and doesn’t even matter if he loses half the 25 games he starts. Probably better off keeping him around and throwing him on LTIR in December.
